Default CSX3045 to be sold at RM Auctions Scottsdale 2013

According to its Charlie Thomas Collection catalog, it looks like CSX3045...an original 427 "semi-competition" Cobra...is slated to cross the block at RM Auctions Scottsdale in January 2013.

CSX3045 is the car that Contemporary Classic "splashed" as the basis for its 427 Cobra replica and, by extension, was also the basis for the Superformance replica.

See page 213 of catalog: RM Auctions

RM Auctions is reporting that they sold CSX3045 today for a hammer price of $1.825 million USD after a lively bidding war in the room and on the phones.

And think how much better it would have been if Shelby could have made the deal for engines with GM instead of Ford. Like he wanted to do in the first place.

I found some more nice photos of the two Cobras and one GT40 that was offered last week at RM Auctions Scottsdale. Enjoy!

CSX3045 which sold for $1.825M

C S X 2 0 3 2 which did not sell at high bid of $710K

GT40 P/1034 which did not sell at high bid of $2.15M

There are issues with certain sequences that we choose not to display.

Sorry, but that is the way we have to deal with it

Big block cars are usually different than small block cars. I think the big block cars were the way they were to avoid messing up the oil cooler.

I wonder if the quick jacks on the S/C came chromed like that from the factory?

Bill AKA MrMustang aptly told us why... But moderators saw fit removed his post.

It was something to the affect of: all names have been removed to protect the guilty.

Sorry CW I could resist!
