Default How do they rank?

Would someone out there be so bold as to rank the top five Cobra replicas or professionally built kits?

Slow day at work, patrickt?

Marc, some searches will provide plenty of answers. You just need to figure out how important is accuracy? Body material? Name? Cost? Engine? Other than that it's easy.

THREE rollbars, patrickt?!?!

Uh-hmm. Marc.....rollbars. And before Patrick can chime in, color.

I'm handing this off to Rodknock and ERA_Chas.

I'd be upset if I were a Backdraft owner. Patrick left them completely off the list.

BDR owners are disrespected again.

Since we already know the OP has a price target, the question should be asked with that factored in. And in this case Patrick got the first 2 right.

Well, if you go by pricing:

1. CSX aluminum (w/paint) $140,000+ roller.
2. CSX fiberglass (w/paint) $80,000+ roller
3. Kirkham aluminum (no paint) $69,500+ roller

I honestly have no clue about BDR, SPF, FFR, Hurricane, ERA and Exact pricing.

Alot of folks believe the "you get what your pay for" theory. Does the OP?

At least he didn't tell the OP to clean out his airbleeds...
Marc,
Pissing off a lot of owners;
KMP, CSX and ERA are the 'top 5'. CSXs mostly for the MSO.
SPF, BDR, FFR and Hurricane have a great many loyal owners.
Bolicks and Hi-Techs may actually be the best but they're not 'production' Cobras.
Your generalized question is a sure-fire fight-starter. But you knew that.

Right, Chas!

I'd also say intended use has to enter....racing, show, street driver, 4 X 4 ( ???--always wanted to slap a 427 style body on top of an early Bronco chassis with a 9" lift kit on it).....whatcha got in mind???

Cheers!

Dugly

OP would be better served to challenge ClubCobra community to find the best 30k Cobra for sale in the USA at this time... At least that's realistic and fun at same time and removes all the fantasy.

But we'd need a definition of 'best'.

Road Serpent, hands down. NO questions.

They do not paint biege or do dual roll bars, but will install a Fiat diesel with an automatic.

Now VERY hard to find, but common in Turkey.

Well, if your a Canadian. There is only one Manufacture in Canada who builds there own kit, or custom Cobra. These are not kits smuggled in from the States. If you do get a kit into Canada. Getting it insured, once the D.O.T. has rung ya through the ringer, will be a handful. There is only "Boss Replica Motors" that supplies Cobras here in Ontario Canada. They are on the web. The units are able to be put on the road with NO problems. D.O.T. is very familiar with the build. Look on the web. You will see.

You need to define "best" and "replica". They mean different things to different people.

We are developing an Excel spreadsheet of Cobra manufacturers and engines. I have it on Google Drive and you can access the spreadsheet at:

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzDEWrGReQaQRXhNMWpHTmFRQTg

The hope is we can collect all the informaiton about the various manufacturers and share it to provide easy access to our favorite hobby. The intent is to keep it unbiased and factual with few opinions.

Please download the spreadsheet and take a look. If you have any updates or want to include any new criteria, make the changes to the spreadsheet and email it to me at WFridrich@comcast.net.

Thanks,

One vote here for the very nicely built NAF North American-FIA body: orig factory in AZ relocated to Canada...not many are familiar with it.

Default Apology

I do truly apologize.I didn't want to anger any owners.I should have been more specific .Im obviously a new member.I was looking for some kind of guidance to avoid a big mistake ,because I'm looking to buy my first one and obviously don't know much.I do know I've wanted one all my life.At 59 years old I'm finally doing it. Again I apologize,
Marc
