Question I need help identifying a steering column

My bearings were actually falling out on the floor " I have the column
on the bench ready to install new bearings.

I have no idea what the heck this column is. I have been on the web searching for hours mostly ford. But in a few threads it's looks like it could
possibly be a GM column as well.

I ordered the ford 3517 B upper and it wasn't even close.
being close to the holidays I really don't wanna spend $500+ becuase
of a few bearings. And as usual I swear I can't figure it out.. I just can't get images in my post" whatever I'll use PB:confused

Thanks in advance if you have some insight.

That is a g.m. column, around a 1985 monte carlo type.

really? even with the extra meat around that multi function switch?

dunno. the last GM i had the pleasure of owning was a 66 Riv......i'll freakin walk before i own another of those abortions. GM should have been let to go bankrupt like all lousy products.

but back to the thread, with the provision on that column for the shifter lever i would seriously think about biting the bullet and getting an ididit column or something. would make life a whole lot easier.

I think so. You can see the rod going down the side of the column going to the high beam switch. I think that started in the late 70s. Looking at the dir. lever its not a monte but the column style is. I am pretty sure the internal parts will interchange.
