Hawaii visit
Hi guys
Question for the Hawaiians, We are heading over in a couple of weeks for a holiday at Waikiki Beach. Wondering if there are any decent speed shops in Honolulu to buy some go fast bits for my Cobra.
Cheers
Brett

Hi Brett,
When I was in Hawaii a year and a half ago there didn't seem to be much happening in the way of motor sport. I think the track on Oahu had been closed for some time. On the big island of Hawaii there was still a little bit happening.
I dont know about suppliers but the quick search I did while in Honolulu didn't turn up anything very interesting. Great spot for a swim though and err the missus will enjoy the shops
cheers
Paul

Not many Cobra replicas here. Best selection of go fast parts is on the mainland - probably California. The roads here are terrible and the speed limits very low with policemen everywhere lurking with laser guns to help
you part with your money.
Enjoy the beaches in Waikiki and elsewhere while here - we do have plenty of those. Be sure not to leave anything of value in your car when you visit the beaches if you are driving.

Ernie moved to Oregon a couple of years ago. Sold his ERA and is enjoying
life there - albeit colder!

Hawaii
Hi Brett,
We dropped into Hawaii on the way back from Pebble Beach.
Nice place for a holiday, but no speed shops.......
I had a pallet of stuff delivered to my Hotel in Monterey from Summit, you can
bring 2 x 23kg's each back from Hawaii to Australia, it might even be 3 x 23kg's now
better check with your airline.
It might be worth getting Summit to ship to Hawaii......
Good luck
P.S. There are at least 4 cobra's in Hawaii as I met them on Saturday night infront of the Cheesecake Factory, we were staying next door and it was hard to miss the noise and crowd.....

I think Ernie's cobra ended up in Florida. I actually considered buying it, but unfortunately it wasn't built till 1986 which was a little too long to wait till I could celebrate its 30 year old birthday by getting it registered. I've got some pics of it somewhere languishing under some palms on an Hawaiian shore.
cheers

So I guess he/Ernie stopped posting also? I knew he had his car for sale.
What are some good rides on Oahu? I've driven to the North-shore along the coast already. Last trip seemed a bit more crowded, especially the North-shore. Ko Olina is nice! Did the Big Island once and drove thru The Parker Ranch.
