Default NASA and Carroll Shelby?

I've wanted to see and share these with someone ever since I came across them couple months ago. I finely got a slide scanner. My close relative was an Aerospace Nutritionalist at NASA from '62-'89. She worked very close with the astronauts and also was involved in research. Part of that research involved stress testing, including astronauts (duh), athletes, drivers, etc. These particular photos were taken in 1964. I think that was a good year for the team, right? Anyway, I hope you like them.

Interesting to see #16 with what looks like no oil cooler and no dimples. Gurney/Johnson finishing 4th at Daytona 1964.but with engine problems and I wonder if the oil coolers that followed was a Remington/Miles solution for the proposed European battle? The next race in March at Sebring 2259 definitely had a screen covering where the oil coolers sit. Also at the 1964 Sebring I`ve seen pics of **** sans dimples as well.I really would like to know who did the necessary beating to form them. Josef,Phil, Charlie? does anybody really know?
Thanks for sharing

Cool pics, thanks for sharing!

Can anyone confirm which chassis these cars are? Where were these stress tests performed? At Sebring?

Is #16 actually CSX2259?

Is this CSX2287?

And which one is #24?

2345 (also had white ID stripe once 2259 no longer existed) only left AC at the end of Feb 1964 . Daytona middle Feb 1964 Sebring end of March 1964. The pic to me shows a car that has RACED somewhat, not new. 2345 had white ID at Targa in April 1964
Look at 2259 recreation and same stickers on fenders , number etc
That was my logic before putting that csx no. to the pic.

This I believe was at Daytona. They were "developed" in 2/64 as stamped on the the slide. I have some pics that I need to get scanned and posted. Stay tuned. Hopefully this evening. Stay tuned. Hopefully we can get some good history on what is what so I can document for our collection.

It makes sense that this was at Daytona in Feb 1964. CSX2287 wore #14 for that race, but it wore #10 at Sebring the following month.

CSX2259 also raced at Daytona in '64. So did CSX2129; maybe that's #24. I'll have to check my registry when I get home.

I checked the SAAC registry and, yes, #24 is CSX2129 and #16 is CSX2259.
