First: In a heartbeat CSX 3002 because I saw Ken Miles drive it at Lakeside in 1965. It changed me forever and I can see and hear it as clearly now as I did all those years ago. The very soul of Cobradom.

Second: ANY !!!! JBL that I could fit into. What stunning cars these are.

Third: The one I have; my lovely old Arntz which gives me so much fun and enjoyment and keeps me young.

Looks like 3002 is pretty popular!

The Shelby Super Snake with it's twin Paxton's is definitely on of the greatest and scariest cars ever built. I believe that it was sold for $5.6M at auction in Scottsdale a few years back.

The answer to the second question is easier. Sophia Loren, without equal in the world of beauty.

Since the divorce, I don't have any sports car in my garage to get jealous, but there are just too many good choices like CSX3020, or an FIA CSX2345, or the first coupe CSX2287 or the flip top (turd) CSX2196...

Now of course I would not trade in my girlfriend, but thinking back to high school and college, I recall that Phoebe Cates could get my motor revving back then.

I'd pick Ken Miles' CSX2431 USRRC, restored as it was raced at Greenwood in July, 1964.

Best to just leave it alone, I'm sure.
It was a pearl yellow at the NY Auto Show....BUT, as you pointed out....it would be best to leave it as Shelby left it.... next for me would be one of the first FIA Team Cars, the only year Hisself raced them in Europe....CSX2323 Viking Blue (red nose bar) car Gurney/Grant raced in the Targa in 1964...Last time I saw it was at Bruce's place in Scotts Valley a few years ago...

Thumbs up if wishes were horses

Being that I know as little as I do. I personally would not desire to own any other 427 AC Cobra, other than the one that is currently being created for me at Boss Replica Motors. It is a B.B. Ford with lots of hand made parts. That is why it is taking so long to build. There are very few off the shelf parts. Besides, all my savings went into purchasing the car being built for me.

Giving this plenty of thought the most desirable Cobra to me would be an out of reach CSX Big Block DragonSnake.Since we all know that is never going to happen. With that in mind the big block car I built is the next best choice. It has every
part, piece, style, look, sound, performance, any enthusiast could hope for, allthough not a CSX it sure means the world to me.
Amazingly, built this car 93/94 and still can picture in my mind some of the problems and the fixes. One good reason for this forum it keeps the juices flowing,so many good ideas to be had here.Thank all for being a part in making the kit Cobra ownership so fullfilling.

I can't really say why for sure, but I lust after the original Hertz gold 427, me thinks CSX 3047. It's unusual, rare, and so 60's not to mention the beast living under the hood!!

I visited SAAC 36 at VIR in 2011. Below is s photo of about 14 original Cobras parked together. It was very pleasing to inspect each of them.

My car is still my favorite.

After thinking about it, CSX2323, would be my first choice. You beat me to it. It I recall, it was on consignment at Canepa and the initial asking price was $6M.

As mentioned above … CSX2000, it's the first one and leave it as is. I would imagine that this one stays with SA in the museum and is trotted around to significant events from time to time.

CSX2000

CSX2000

CSX2000 - small chip on edge of hood

CSX2000 - a pretty good size dent in the lower front end

===========

Like the Bartruff1 & DD … CSX2323 would be my choice, beautiful car and great history. I took these photos when it was on display at Canepa's a few years ago now.

Nice pics, Tim! Hhm, interesting tach... And is that a knee pad on the left?

I'm partial to the FIA.

Doug,

That is a knee pad of sorts, must take a bit of the sting out when you bang into it.

Also have a photo of the foot box area … interesting what looks like a high beam switch and the pad on the clutch pedal. Hard to say if those items were on the car during the original race era, or added at a later date. Overall it looks very neat and tidy.

I agree … there is something especially about an FIA, especially this one
