Bra for my Cobra
Hi All
I live in the AZ desert (PHX area) and have noticed that everytime I take my car out for a drive, it comes back with pits and more road rash around the front nose area. Are there any good solutions to this problem? My first thought is to purchase a bra for the front of the car. Any good manufactures you'd recomend?

Clear bra is helpful. The old fashioned leather or vinyl bra usually causes more paint damage than it prevents.
You can either keep it pristine, or you can drive it. You can't do both.

3M is a nice option.

I got the black vinyl bra from Superformance for my SPF. Use it on runs, it has protected the front end very well. It has not caused any marking on the paint, and I'm totally satisfied with it. If not on a run, I just take it off, fold it, and put it in the trunk. Have the clear bra on both my Vettes, and have noticed that some rocks penetrate the plastic and nick the paint. Actually ran it on my windshied where it did an excellent job, no distortion, could see through it without any problems day or night, and was able to use the windshield wipers

rdr747, I think Hillbank has a bra for CSX's, at least they used too. Of course it's a traditional bra, so it may not be what you're looking for.

Road Rash
I had a 3M clear protector put on a while ago on my fresh paint. So far it seems to work OK...expensive. If you want a referral, email me.
Ken Pike (streetrodpainter.com) has a special proprietary paint that he puts on the front of the Cobras in his shop. It's some super hard finish he developed. You might give him a call

Once saw a car that had a bra removed to repair the paint,it was not pretty. In places the paint had worn down into the primer with paint fade it looked as if the car still had the bra on.
The paint dings give these cars the character of a race car, a very nice patina if you will.

If I was the owner of the car she was leaning against, I would be really mad if those metal grommets in her panties put scrathes in the fender. I think a thong style would work better and prevent paint scratches.

Road Rash...Bra
Thanks all for the inputs. With your inputs and my on-line research, I'm beginning to think the Clear Bra ... XPEL Ultimate self healing or the 3M Scotsguard may be the answer. But didnt realize the expense involved. Maybe the best is to drive the car and let it gain character with the rash, pits and dings and then do a front end paint if I ever decide to sell,,,, which won't be for a long time!
Gofastoldguy... I may have an interest in your suggestion at streetrodpainter.com I see you live in the PHX area, so you are familier with the find sand rash....
Appreciate the info

I purchased a bra from Superformance ( the Shelby bra) for my Hurricane. had to alter it slightly added 1 inch onto the top that fits under the hood $30.00, now fits perfect and no scartching so far. It does make the car run about 5 degrees hotter in traffic due to the screen over both openings (radiator & oil cooler). It comes off in the summer, what are a few pits, it's only paint.

I have the $200 bra and think it is great. I am careful to keep it clean and there has been no paint damage. A big plus for me is that it also protects the radiator and oil cooler. I have the clear stuff on the front of the rear fenders and seems like it may protect the paint, but rocks still chip away at the plastic and you end up with road rash. The clear stuff can probably be replaced and you still have protected paint underneath. Don't really know how that might work.

Best advice...don't tailgate..
all the bras and plastic look like ****e to me.
Drive it and enjoy.
The rear fenders are the best place to put something on however.

I missed "those metal grommets in her panties." Now I know I'm old....
