Does it fold over, or unzip down the middle, and let you drive with it? Or is it only for standing still?

I have one. It's nice to have when those small showers creep up. Saved me a few times

I've had Phillip & Kay's tonneau for 9 years, and love it. Always use it when I park and leave the car for any period of time. Installs in about 20 seconds. It's going to the new owner, so I'll get another for the MK IV build.

Very nice.
What are the "ribs" made of, and do they collapse or fit in your trunk as is?

So how are the edges held down? Is it magnetic? or just weighted.

I think is fiberglass. It folds up like an accordion, you put it in a soft case, and it barely fits in the trunk diagonally across.
I wont always have it in the car... only if I decide to drive on a overcast/expected to rain day (seldom).

You can barely see them, but it has a bungee cord on each side that you wrap around the side pipes... It makes for a snug fit, but the set up is NOT impermeable... water resistant at best. I think it would make a rain catastrophy into a rain problem
I dont think any of us would take the car out if one knew it were going to rain for sure

Well I have had bird crap on my seat, and geese fly over quite frequently. A goose will give an average sized dog a run for his money, if you get my point. Also the sun can make seats unbearable. I think the cover offers more than rain protection.

I have one too and really like it. It's also good for keeping prying eyes out.
