A. He prolly won't separate.
B. They should be crack tested in that condition.

Bill Malone's beautiful black CSX with an all original SOHC engine sold for $110K last year, so this ERA is priced within the ball park.
Really don't need two cars that I don't drive.

Buy it, swap out the wheels, possibly the SOHC (although it's prolly not got enough alloy for you) and re-sell it....
Decent deal with that equipment, but a lot of hassle to get it.
(You should have bought Bill's.....now THAT was a deal)

Chas can attest to it, but the mags have to be specifically machined to an ERA. They likely wouldn't fit a Kirkham. I'd install an original SOHC, no problem. BTW, this SOHC engine has Bill Coon's aluminum heads.
Unfortunately, the car doesn't really much appeal to me, especially considering it's asking $89,000. I really liked Bill's car, but something about shiny aluminum.

Here's what I learned from my car:
It wasn't the 'looking at it'.
It wasn't the 'correctness'.
It wasn't the building it. (which I loved).
It wasn't the working on it. (which I loved).
It was getting the car to TALK to you-getting its rhythm and its feel that went right to my core when on the road or track. Electric. It talks to you at 100, screams at you at 155.
Sit tight Knockers. You've got a fabulous car. I wouldn't change a thing on it if mine.
If you took it out more, more people would tell you that.
