Default Detail pictures - original Cobra

Griot's Garage used an Original Cobra (CXS3112) as their latest cover car - here are the detail pictures in case there is any interest...

I saw this car at Canepa Design last summer. It's got Bruce's signature wheel treatment.

Default Detail Pictures-Original Cobra

I have seen that 427 in person a few times. It is a beautiful car. However I am partial to the 289 FIA behind it as I purchased it recently.

On the record... I detest the black wheel treatment.

A bunch of old farts you are.

However, not on a street car.

There's an aluminum CSX4000 recently listed on CobraCountry with the black wheel treatment.

http://www.cobracountry.com/cobra4sa...0-blue-075.jpg

Must be a trend, especially since we had ten pages on Patrick's repainting of his wheels.

I think whoever shot those pics, should have their camera taken away from them. Terrible pics.

Is that a 'look' or is he replicating the neglected mag treatment?

That is Canepa's way of hiding cheap Trigos on expensive original cars.
He doesn't black the cars with Sunbursts.

There was a really beautiful street Kirkham with the blacked out Trigo's on Cobra Country not too long ago. A CC member named KurtMart was selling KMP213, I think. I inquired about the wheels. KurtMart said he liked Bruce Canepa's work (the blacked out Trigo treatment on his original Cobra restorations) and his resto's consistently get top dollar. And so it goes.

As I continue to wait for a set of mags someday......

...then he should sandblast them and get them all nice and pitted, THEN powedercoat.

But in fairness to Canepa, Sunbursts were ally, so no treatment necessary.

Rodknock,
Kurt's KMP was at the Petersen show in Jan. It was a nice car. Driven. You should see the road he had to drive to get to his house. First time I saw it was when I picked up his Sunbursts

Does it have the wrong gas cap or did early 427's use that cap?

Unless I'm mistaken your 289 FIA is the same Contemporary Classic replica that graced the Griot's Garage Handbook no. 326. Chassis no. CCX2-2505 to be precise. Is that right?

It's gorgeous!!
