My Avons have 4400 miles on them and they look near new. Lots of hard driving on them......not just putting around...
Should go 10K or better at this rate.

I tried a dark blue, a white, and the yellow. Yellow won. I'm pretty happy.

I track my car with 15 inch Firestone Indys. The CSX originally came with Goodyear GT's. The Firestones are not run by many but are an inexpensive alternative. I can hit 2nd gear at 6000 RPM and they stay planted. The Goodyears would break grip....I contend that not having an American made 15 inch sticky radial is a real shame...........( Mickey Thompson ? ) Bottom line is they are making their money on 17,18,19,20,etc not on 15's....

Lippy and PridenJoy:
It is not a stencil. I simply painted the raised lettering on the tire's sidewall.
I traced the letters/logo first with a Sharpie brand oil based paint stick. After a few passes, I finished with a few coats of yellow paint. I had some left over yellow paint from my tow eye project. I do not know what this paint's name or code is, but I assume any yellow that you like would do.
I tell you what, though. I am sure many of y'all have the gift, but it took a LOT of patience and trial-and-error. The products I had at hand simply would not stick to the rubber! I did not bother to find a better paint product. I hope it does not wear off quickly. Otherwise, I will have to find a long weekend again to re-do it.
Cheers!
Hector

Classy and tasteful...good choice and nice work. It adds just enough.

Hi Trevor,
I am just installing my 4th set of Avons. FWIW I have averaged 7 to 8000 miles per set . This with a spirited driving style and a few track excursions on each set. As they say, "your mileage may vary."
