Default 3M Protection Cost

What are owners seeing for a installed price for the 3M protection film on the front of the car?

Default 3M Protection Cost

Just had my front and rear wheel arches done with EXPEL. Cost was a thousand dollars. Recommend EXPEL as much better than 3M Ventureshield. Use an experienced installer.

I got 3m on my Superfromance when I still had it , it was $350, they did the front, the spats, and just behind the spats, and headlights, my local Lexus dealership did the job...One other thing, the 3m product has a 5 warranty on the product and the installation, the Xpel has a 7 year warranty just on the product, not the installation...The 3m has a 2 year UV warranty the Xpel only a 1 year warranty...Per my installer...

Pricing seems all over the place. One company quote me 4 hour job at 1300 and another for 3 days at 700. Anyone know a good company on Long Island NY?

1227,

Just for grins, take a look at the blurb on Club Cobra about the new 3M paint Defender product. I'm going to give it a try, and if I'm not pleased with it, I'm out maybe $35 and a little time.

I did. I actually posted on that thread that I was going to try it before my ride this weekend. Gonna spray it later today and see how it works.

This is not a wrap or sheet like the decals used for advertising? I thought it was the same except much thicker. I have seen a gray truck turned with wrapping it with advertising.

Have a great weekend.

I tried to apply the new 3M protector and had very limited luck. The spray appeared to be incosistant coming out of the nozzle, thereby making it really hard to coat even. I did the 3 pass the way they reccomended and ended up with some areas running and other areas thin.
I let it cure and peeled it all off, the thin area was really hard to get off, even after using their wax beforehand. I do not think I will try again as even the thicker areas when removed seemed thick enough to prevent rock damage.

I am an instrument electrician, not a paint sprayer but I found it really hard to do with their materials...... just my 2 cents.

I wonder if placing the spray can in a tub of hot water for 15 or 20 minutes before spraying would improve the application and results? If anyone else is experimenting you might try this.

I had my spray can in the Sun for about an hour while i taped the car. No help. I contacted 3M today and they stated the initial run of cans had a defective nozzle. They offered to send me a new complete kit. SO BEWARE. I am about 4 hours into nail scraping this crap off my car!!!!
