First road trip with Unique cobra
Six days that started off on the Amtrack Auto train, Orlando to DC. Great experience. The manager took care of the cobra himself. Got to VA overnight on train, unloaded and the wife and I headed for the Blue Ridge Parkway. Man does this car get a LOT of attention everywhere. Beautiful second day in mountains. Even got 12.8 mpg! The weather turned on us after the firat night to chilly, spitting rain and dense fog in higher elevations. We took to the low lands for antique shooooopppping. Off and on light rain. even wore gloves. No top. Were thankful we were never soaked. Tonnnoau cover at night in parking lot kept cockpit dry pretty well. Dissapointed I did not get into the best switchbacks of the smokies but the wife really wants to do it again. Did do a dozen hairpins and discovered that when I pull a G, she has to pee! She also got a bruised upper arm from leaning against the door. Gotta get a Oh Sh.. Handle she says. 1,350 miles, 10-12 mpg, 2 quarts of oil, no problems. the cobra was actually more comfotable than we thought it would be after several hours. Lots of fun and memories. A good vacation thru VA, NC, SC, GA, FL.
