Never made a pass on NOS...... took it off 3 or 4 years ago, because I never used it. Had a 300 shot and tried it on the street a coupe times and it was stupid fast, not to mention the car was not made for that much power. I was driving down this 4 lane highway one day with the wife, doing about 55, and told her to watch this. I hit the NOS button for about a second, and ended up 3 lanes over. That was the last time I ever tried it. Took it off and sold the system.

She crapped on that one. Here's the one that made me crap. I was bracket racing at Norwalk Raceway one night. There was zero prep on the track. I made a couple of runs and had to pedal 3 or 4 times in first and 3 or 4 times in second and was running 9.90's, so I decided to wait for eliminations. First round I had to spot this Mustang 3 seconds. I'm in the right lane and caught him about 1/2 track and I let off. That's when the half shaft, which had broken on the line, fell out, and on my rear suspension, the half shaft holds the tire geometry. I hear thump thump thump.... thought I had a flat tire. I was heading towards the right wall, brought it back and crossed the center line in front of the Mustang. Sideways all the while. Pulled it back to my side and went through the lights sideways at 10.22. Nothing like being sideways at over 130 and a rear tire doing nothing but flopping in the breeze.

Jack, surely you went with a live axle to handle all that power your SBC is making. I don't think I'd trust even one of the newer Corvette rear ends to last and not give me any more surprises.

Karl, I do have the Corvette IRS in the car. My plan this spring was to replace the rear with a solid axle or buy another car. I had it all lined up to switch rears, when the guy that was doing the work called and said he was sick and didn't want the car to be tied up because of his health. Meanwhile the exact car I was looking for came up for sale, ERA black, no stripe and big block, so I ended up buying that car. The red one will be for sale, if I ever get around to taking some pictures and getting it posted.

450 inch small block had to have been a wide pan rail block.Built a 427 SB2 Donovan this past winter for the V8 bike the 3.875 stroke hit in a lot of places.
How did that motor work for you many problems?

Yep, used a Dart tall deck block with 18* heads. Needed a wide rail pan, and the only pans I could fine were drag race deep sump pans. Called Moroso and had them make me a road race pan...talk about a costly pan. A 450 inch small block using a tall deck is pretty straight forward without any clearance problems. Using a regular block makes the bores pretty thin to get those inches. I'm using a 4.125 inch stoke.

I would put David Williams owner of Fastlane Cars in St. Charles, MO. (greater St. Louis, area) up against about anyone for a quarter mile. He is just running a small block with a little boost .
Seriously the dude turned 8.90 with old engine and now he has 200 more hp. I am thinking he has somewhere north of 800 hp at the wheels because he pegged the last chassis dyno and anything more than 800 hp was just a guess.

Is that the car that jumps all 4 wheels off the ground when he launches?
Never seen him drag race it, but have heard stories from those who have.

That's a physical impossibility, unless your front wheels are so high off the ground you're riding the back bumper. You're back wheels are the fulcrum, unless you're riding the bumper, then the bumper becomes the fulcrum......and heaven help you when that front end hits the ground.

Colin Mullaney has ran 7.90's in the 1/4. Several other cars are in the 8's. Steve Berg went 9.130 at 154 but was limited by running out of gear. He has sinced switched gears but no longer is able to race due to his local track going NHRA. He only has the stock single hoop for protection and can't pass tech. Cheers.
