T-5 ?
Hi Guys, I'm going to be changing out my speedo from mechanical to electronic. I'm going pulling out speedo cable and plugging it. My question is will tranny fluid be coming out when I take out the cable ???

No oil won't come out, but where are you going to get your signal for the speedo? I replace the mechanical one with the sender that came with the gauge kit. It went in the same place as the mechanical one.

If your trans has a cable driving the speedo, you remove the cable only, then fit your Vehicle Speed Sensor in place of the cable.
Your T5 has no other means of providing a vehicle speed signal.
What's on the "other side"? Only reverse switch?

Kenny,
I ran a built TKO 500 and I used the electronic VDO gauges as the speedometer is easy to calibrate after a tire size change or gear change. The Hall Effect sending unit screwed right into the same hole as the mechanical gear unit would go in. I had a Neutral Safety Switch that was electric but I can't recall just where it was located on the transmission.
