What have I got?? Need some help identifying my potential project
Original post of this thread by Robbycoo was deleted, throwing the sequence of replies out of whack.
Here is a replica of the original post:
Hi All
My first post failed im afraid, however, ive stumbled across an old cobra project that has not moved in literally 10-15 years! The current owner is more into motorbikes and has no interest in completing this car any longer. However, I now have some space and enthusiasm! The current owner doesn't know too much about the kit and before I offer to take off his hands I need to understand what I have got. Can anyone from here help??
Kind Regards and Thanks!

Hi Rob, if you get some pictures that would be the only way to go. Get some of the frame, front and rear suspension, body, dash, cowl areas and any others are a bonus. We love identifying kits on here and there's some very knowledgeable folks here to help. As suggested photo bucket, FB, Image shack or something to host pics, you can also put some in your album on here.

From one Cooney to another, what is the wheelbase measurement from the center cap of the front wheel to the center cap on the rear wheel?
Maybe my brain is stretched after a long day at work, but that car looks a bit longer than 90" center to center in the photo.

An old Everett-Morrison maybe? The gel coat looks dark green in the pics - is that just the lighting?

Here is a link to a UK Cobra Club. They might be able to help also if not a bit better.

EM made a 96" wheelbase chassis. I sat in one in their factory in FL.

EM didn't use an torsion bar style front end that I am aware of.

Thanks Guys, Those big tubular longitudinals are very similar to the EM and different to a number of other Chassis I have seen on more common models in the UK. I have compared with Chassis from Dax, AK, Pilgrim and Gardener Douglas but its quite different. That said the EM is the closest I have seen so far!
Mine seems to have a hole for a centrally mounted tank filler (not sure whether this is another clue). Also by my reckoning, this kit could be from around early 90s!?
Youve promted my interest whats the difference between the 90" and the 96" wheelbase? are these the main two sizes for cobra's
Best

Rob,
Knowing the wheelbase measurement helps to narrow down the manufacturers as many were 90", while others offered the stretched layout in 95/96". A buddy of mine had on old King Cobra stretched version with all Corvette running gear and parts as an example. You look for unique signature items about the design to help narrow it down.
Another thing I noticed about your chassis is how WIDE the side rocker tubes are pushed out towards the tires. On some cars you can see these tubes hanging underneath with the body mounted which is another clue. Not only does your car look longer than 90", it makes me wonder if the body is wider than a normal Cobra too. It's hard to tell with photos until you park it next to another 90" wheelbase Cobra to see the proportions. You could measure the wheelbase length and how wide the track is from center-to-center on the front wheels too. Its hard to see from the photos if they are normal aspect ratio or wider than normal.
Can you post a picture of the seats and bits that came with the car too?
