Default Moving to SoCal in the Fall

If things work out right, I will be moving to Ventura County in Southern California in the fall. What Club Cobra group is active in that area? I don't see too many posts from around Ventura County so I thought I would ask. Maybe there are more Ventura County posts on the Factory 5 Forum? I recall a guy I met with CSX2313 talked about a monthly gathering somewhere in that area. When I get there I can check up with him again, but any suggestions for now? Wish I could keep my Washington State Historical License while terrorizing Ventura County! Thx

Hey, congrats! I live in SoCal. Currently building a custom 289 FIA. We have the Tri County Cobras which meet every other month in Oxnard. Shoot me a PM for details

Welcome to VC! It’s a great place to own a Cobra! Fantastic roads, weather and people. Like Bill said, the tri county group is a great bunch of guys. I would also recommend the Supercar Sunday meet in Woodland Hills every Sunday from 7-10. There are 5 to 10 core guys that are there every weekend and truly nice people. I’m honored t call them my friends. They do regular drives thru the Santa Monica mountains and PCH to a nice lunch spot. Well worth the 20-30 min ride depending on where you’re coming from. What city are you moving too?

I second the comments regarding the Tri-County Cobra group and Super Car Sunday (SuperCarSunday.com).
We also have a pretty socially active cobra group where we get together with wives/GF's. We've got a trip planned up Highway 1 to Carmel in October.
PM me if you'd like for details.
Welcome to So Cal!
Matt

I hope to live in Camarillo. Actually, the Cobra is one of the reasons I want to go south and enjoy the sun more in the winter. The group trips and runs are so much fun and I'm glad to hear there is an active group I can join in with.

I am sure we will hook up at SCS someday. As Matt has indicated the activities are only limited by you and your schedule. I am running the same engine. We had a group from Washington State that we showed Mulholland Drive about 2 years ago. One driver had his Dad and another had his preteen son riding second seat. They DROVE round trip and nobody had a Cobra version with a top.........Look forward to meeting you. There is also the Los Angeles Cobra Club ( SAACLA ) and the Orange County Club ( COCOAOC ). Farther south is the San Diego Cobra Club.........Willow Springs Raceway, etc if you want to track..........Cheers

Sounds great! The weather is the reason I am moving and the Cobra was the reason I needed more sunny weather! We are in escrow with California home.

Looking forward to meeting you. Recommend you introduce yourself to the Super Car Sunday Cobra group. Assuming your new home will be within a short drive of Topanga and the Ventura Fwy. I am 40+ miles away, but it is worth the trip. A good bunch who like to drive and do know their vehicles.
