Jaguar E-Type and XJ Inboard Brake Upgrade Shows a low buck vented rotor set up that uses a spacer between the caliper halves.
I have some brackets programmed to take the Wilwood calipers and the Wilwood spot calipers for the park brakes.

Bontoft's one piece vented rotors were substantially less than $800 / pair.

I was thinking from memory from 3 years ago that this included the calipers. But after reading over it again I see it doesn't - so I agree that's pretty high for two rotors, adaptors and a bag full of hardware. Check with Mickmate.

Here is my caliper widened for the vented rotor. Pretty easy to do with a few chunks of aluminum and a drill.

Joyridin that looks good. Where exactly can I get the vent rotors? It's probably posted I just missed it. I'm ready for my parts. Everything is down clean and apart. The front pistons have been pressing agents the rotors and are in ruff shape. How much are these old calipers worth? Now I just have to figure out what to do with the rotors and calipers. Thanks again. Anymore advice ill take it...cheers

Patrickt Yes, I did not know it was the parking brake pads that I was seeing, the main brake pads were gone. I found out I have s type calipers and a 1973 jaguar rear with 43/13 ratio. After much looking around I was still unsure I would pull all of the exact parts one would need to replace calipers etc. The s type brake calipers are a bit small so I will not have them rebuilt. Spoke with Doug at Era and he is sending me Master Cylinder upgrade kit, 2 rotors "not vented", 2 brake hose for front, 1 rear brake hoes, Pads and 2 calipers. For a total of around 1100$. Maybe I could have saved by ordering from different part houses but there was worry of the wrong parts time to find all the parts and in the long run I believe the extra money spent goes down ez when you figure in service and peace of mind. I will be upgrading my front brakes too and have planed to get most parts from carquest or napa maybe salvage any help here would be great....Crash

Those stock rear brakes worked great on those heavy Jags........going on 25 years with my car 60000 miles, no probe......Replaced the rear rotors once at about 30$ each.........originally rebuilt and powder coated the calipers , nickol cadmium coated all the lines and bolts back then.........on the track if you're really flying the weight transfer on the Cobra is quite severe and the rear becomes very light and it takes some skill to keep it straight..........with locking up rear brakes you will be going sideways very quickly....

Maybe i'm goin about this the wrong way? The s type caliper with one set of pistons you think it would have been best to have had them rebuilt?? I think the calipers were 230ish$ the rebuild kit with pistons is about 170$. Inline jag all new to me....
