Default "Gumball" Ferrari Daytona

One of the two Ferrari Daytona's used in the movie "The Gumball Rally" is going up for sale. Would be kind of neat to reunite it with one of the Cobra's from the movie! Would make a great photo!

Is this the same car that's been on display at the Petersen Museum in L.A.? The exhibit signage claims that that car was the one from the movie.

Have you ever seen the July/August 2006 Issue of "Motor Trend Classic" magazine? The story has pictures with one of the Ferrari Daytonas used in the movie and one of the Cobras used in the movie.

There were 2 cars apiece used for filming, identical looking.

I've transported several Ferrari Daytonas. At low speed the steering is so heavy I thought there was something wrong but the owner said that was normal. I imagine that it gets lighter as the speed increases. Tom

That can't be the car used in the movie. The rear view mirror hasn't been ripped off.

LOL. The best line of the movie -- no doubt!

The two Daytona's used in the movie were chassis numbers 14829 and 16467. I'm not sure which one was at Petersen.

I just looked at my photos from the museum, but the signage didn't specify the chassis number. It simply said the car belonged to the collection of Margie and Robert E. Petersen.

The car being offered at RM Auctions Monterey is chassis no. 14829.

Here's a pic of the car from my visit to the Petersen.

Word out here is that Peterson is dumping a lot of their collection via auction. The new owners want to do a French Classic theme collection. That's the word anyways....

I'll find out, but if it is Peterson name was kept out of auction description. You have any other pics of the ones the Peterson sold off?

They sold a load of cars. Everytime Hemmings has run a piece I have to write a long commentary about it under my military name
StormBringer

They sold some nice hot-rods, Edwards-America, Cunningham that needed resto. Ghia 450SS

Petersen Museum’s unrestored Cunningham sells for $407,000 | Hemmings Daily

Read the comments under stormbringer.

Yeah let's turn a southern cali museum into art french art Mulin.

I like the NART spyder, 350 MM and Lister Jag a lot better in that auction.

"The Gumball Rally" Daytona Spyder sold this weekend at RM Auctions for a hammer price of $1.5 million USD plus 10% buyer's premium.

Yeah that was their high range estimate of what the auto would go for.
