Depends on the model...some are just downright goofy.

The Ploprof was the most recent purchase. Wore it to bed...accidently hit the wifey in the head with it...she took it kind of personal.

Bell & Ross is tugging at me...

Accidentally bumped the like button on one of the Rolex/timex posts.
I quickly unliked it!!!

Why bothers wearing a watch these days?
Aren't your multi-purpose mobile phones able to do this?

I still use fountain pens and a written calendar...don't feel like rushing into the future too fast.

Why have a Cobra?

Since the moderators have left the building, I'll just have to self-moderate this thread.

Here's a 2008 CSX4400, with 89 miles (2008? Sounds like me ) asking $200K at Hillbank. But asking is not a selling price.

I agree with you. Don't you find that fancy watches are too blingy?

And NYG can't comprehend spending any more than $30,000 for a 50-year old (design) simple-to-assemble Cobra, yet all this jibber-jabber about watches would lead one to believe he may spent that kind of money buying watches.

Yup. Very nice car. Very hard to find an aluminum Continuation Cobra. Not nearly as detailed as mine or nice IMHO but still very nice.

Based on that my asking price for CSX4206 would be at least $240K if I were selling but I'm not. As noted I've had interest expressed for over $200K.

You guys need to get one of those meteorite watches. Oh by the way the McLaren F1 came with one of those TAG watches scribed with the cars number.

Ooops maybe the title should be changed in this thread.

NYG I wouldn't purchase any automobile as an investment. I mentioned before all the vipers that are sitting in storage by guys hoping that they will become collector items.

If you enjoy the car and can afford it go for it but $$$ wise makes no sense. Yes some of the recent Ferrari's have gone up, not to mention the classics of days past. the andrett F1 was just sold for around ten million.

You probably know more on how to market to a younger generation. I'm like Briggs Cunningham.. we both attended one year at Yale. However recently I did receive a diploma for life experiences. Any business that I have ever started I always sit down with my brother. He is a true financial architect with the credentials to go along with it. Any concepts or ideas of mine he has always shaped into a comprehensive plan.

I really didn't know much about the continuation/replica/and fakeydoo Cobras. I know the histories of the real ones though. I think the continuations on face value are over priced and you are paying a large part for the name. Many believe the same. Not much out there for prices to compare. Rodknock seems to keep an eye on that. I have an order for a lightweight E Jaguar. Only because I like those cars and it's the first time Jaguar is making a reissue/continuation. And they are only making a few. They were not very successful back in the day for the privateers.

Personally I would tell someone to use the money for a bigger/nicer house or childrens education instead of buying a continuation cobra. I have been tracking prices of kirkhams though. I was left at the bus stop with those polished bodies. I usually keep ahead of trends but as I said I really never followed the cobra replica market. I think it would be cool to have one of those polished kirkhams, maybe even polished copper in the garage for select guests to use. And having twins 11 years ago means double of everything. Yes two of each lol But even with that I figure that money could be used to fund foundation/scholarship programs.

It just seems a bit much for me with the continuations regarding price & wait time.

Asking $40,000 more for a used Shelby Cobra with self-admitted road rash? That's Ripley's Believe-it-or-not territory. My Kirkham, which was "detailed" by noted Cobra Restorer Stewart Hall of Hall Fabrication, is on sale right now at $199,000. Please submit your offers now, before I change my mind.

Let me know when there's an actual published sale of any Shelby Cobra Continuation over $200K.

Are watches complicated to assemble? And wasn't the pocket watch invented in the 1500's? Wouldn't that make the design of a watch to be about 500 +/- years old?

Who would pay alot of money for such a simple-to-assemble and for an old design? No irony there.
