Default body styles

looking through different pictures, I notice how some cobras are more straight or level in the rear compared to others that to have a raised or kinked up rear section from the doors back.

is this a 427 compared to a 289?

different years?

of just different mgf.?

It is the maker of the cat that determined that. I believe it was Factory Five that used to have the rear end stuck up but they have changed that now to looking like they should. It has nothing to do with it being a 289 leaf spring model or the 427 coil spring model body style.

Have to add when building our car and trying to decide on a color that would highlite the lines.Actually made up framed 8x10 pictures of about every color imagineable and hung them around the shop while building the car.
Except for the obvious differences or the fanatical approach on dimensions most kits to the average person all look the same. The "Compare car profiles" was a surprise especially to see all the examples and some of the differences were very obvious.
So I guess in the end it all boils down to what pleases the eye, internally that's another whole story.

These are both 427 bodies pictured, the second FFR the first?.....
a 289 is slimmer and more English looking car with buggy springs vs coil over.....
