Superformance claims to have some sort of rights. I am confused about that.

Superformance replicas are officially licensed by Shelby American. They're the only Cobra replica company to have come to terms with SAI on this matter.

$650,000? Maybe they meant $65,000? Probably not.

Well as a supplier to SAI, Kirkham has a relationship with them already. I wonder if SAI would prefer not to have Kirkham as an officially licensed Cobra to avoid having an officially licensed aluminum body Cobra to compete with the aluminum bodied CSX cars.

No, Kirkham replicas aren't officially licensed by SAI like SPFs are. However, Kirkham is a supplier of aluminum Cobra bodies to SAI.

Superformance, that is the Hi-Tech Automotive factory that builds them, is also a supplier to Shelby American. They produce SAI's fiberglass Cobras and CSX9000 coupes.

SunDude,

It's my understanding that Superformance has a brand license agreement with "Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc." not to be confused with "Shelby American Inc."
