Why a Chevy motor in a Continuation?
Another member posted this gov't auction Cobra.
427 Shelby Cobra Roadster Reproduction - Government Liquidation
If this is a continuation cobra why would SAI put in a chevy motor? I thought Continuations were suppose to be something else. Did someone purchase a roller and finish it off themselves?

Well I guess that's why some members were posting remarks about the tail lights and things. I really didn't look at the pics at all.

As I stated on the other post, it is a Classic Roadster LTD C427 replica.
Bill Emerson has the same body style.

On top of this, I'll add that there is documentation showing at least two original CSX2000/3000 series car that currently have Chevy engines under the hood.
Bill S.
PS: I do find the OP's comment that he did not look at the pictures at all a bit strange. If you were looking at a specific auction and/or car, why would you not study the pictures as well? Makes me wonder if the OP is perhaps not old enough to legally drive yet

No pusher fans, tail lights wrong (at least for the 4000 series), interior wrong. Kinda looks like an FFR to me.

tcrist nailed it. Its a Classic Roadsters 427 replica, with the looooooong wheelbase. The car appears to be close to me in Auburn CA.
Looking at the pics, those top cutaway doors and center mount hood latch are a dead giveaway for starters...

Bill Emerson Motorsports has the same body style Emerson Motorsports - Bespoke Performance
He splashed his from a Classic Roadster and then modified it to make it his.

FYI:
Was never interested in this vehicle for a purchase and just glanced the original thread that someone else posted and read the description of a continuation with Chevy engine. Hence I started this thread because I was wondering why this motor in a continuation. OK fake description, but I need not blow up pics and study something I was not interested in. Similar to another thread of a continuation that "Sultan of Michigan" owned and was wondering if it was glass or alumin. bodied.
Guess you have so much time on your hands to examine everything you come across.

I think you need to invest in a World Registry published by SAAC. Either you are miss informed or intend the statement as a put down to the Continuation Series Cobras.
If you want to use the dictionary definition of "replica" you could argue that since the Continuation series is a Cobra which is a continuation of the original made by the original Company it's a "replica" of a the original Cobra in that sense while being every bit and very much a genuine Cobra in it's own right. That therefore leaves the rest which means that Lonestars etc...do not even qualify as "replicas" nor are they "Cobras" but merely various chassis of multiple configurations to which a conglomeration of various parts are attached having no resemblance to a "Cobra" save for the plastic shell which in some cases isn't even a good copy and in short have as much in common with a Cobra original or continuation as a shopping cart.
Following your logic we have Continuation Cobras that are "replicas" of the original Cobras.
Then we have Lonestars and the like that are "pretend" Cobras that done even meet the threshold of being a Cobra or a replica thereof.
Cheers.

Like I have been saying, unless it was made in the 60's by Shelby-AC-Ford or maybe later by Shelby,,,, It is not a real Cobra,,, it is a HotRod that is shaped like a Cobra.
