Still trolling....Looking for Cobra!
Hey All,
Still here. Looking for a well done Classic Roadster, JBL, Excalibur or
A CR un-built kit WITH CMOS/MOS.
Would like a small block with certified 400+ HP.
Price contingent on quality and condition.
Distance: Continental U.S.
Kit example: Phase I or II finished with all CR finishing parts. Would prefer a complete unfinished CR Cobra though.
However a complete Unique, ERA, EM, Mid-States could do.
Please e-mail photo(s) front, back both sides, interior. Motor description, options, mileage, and location of course.
Ready to purchase this week, give me your absolute NO HAGGLE price with your choice of payment type.
Thank you,
Ed (DV) Combs (DV4477@gmail.com)
(Price to be Minus 50K)

Interested in a Backdraft out of So Cal 351 Windsor, Teal Grn with Silver Stripes. Belonged to a good friend who passed away last month and his wife wants to sell it.

Hello Vector,
Steve Carey here, DV asked me to see of you could resend your email. He never received it. Dv4477@gmail.com
Ed has been trying to help me find a cobra and I assume that's what this is about. You can also reach me at scarey@cnbank.com or 585-230-6817
Thanks ,
Steve

So it's not for you then Ed?
Hmmm, trolling for a Cobra, and then with all the luck in the world coming across one of Richard's breathtaking creations, and then just passing it on to somebody else??? Really?? I could understand if it was, let's say, one of the more usual Cobras, but a JBL? And a Competition version at that!
I hope we're all let in on how this pans out. Will it be that the JBL finds a home in the DV garage and the hunt goes on? After all, the DV garage has been home to a very special Cobra before...

Don,
JB:? Yes I was more than a little surprised to see a JBL pop up. And this particular car is for a very special wanna bee! Of all people, like many, has paid his "dues" many times over. He had contracted with the Great Lakes Replicas - Terry Gattrill - to have a very special CR Cobra built. Steve in his excitement to go from wanna-be to actual owner was blinded by his faith in mankind. Gattrill took 28K from Steve right from the start. (To show you how good at what he did, (& rumor has it he - Gattrill is starting another Cobra business all over again -Buyer please beware! ) Steve is a professional Banker!) Of course Steve never saw the first part from Gattrill!
At this point of course the dream has begun to tarnish, the wife, his family.....well we'll just leave that one alone, but Steve after his nightmare had finally started to diminish has been able to recoup some very hard earned cash and is trying to venture forth once again.
I actually entertained getting a hold of some of the (In) famous Gasholes, maybe Jamo was ready to sell his dulled out KMP by now for much less than what it is worth. Or maybe Brent would offer up his!
Back to reality, Steve did a little more homework this time and decided to put his faith in my hands, at least to ask pertinent questions for him. (Actually two +/- years ago I tried to warn him about Gattrill, but it was to late for many, many people caught in that trap!)
So, that is how I got involved with Steve, just an all around good guy that had a little to much faith. I told Steve I would be happy to try to help him Pro-Bono and see if we couldn't find him his special Cobra.
Have we? Hopefully within the week he will finally enjoy being a first time Cobra owner!
DV- We are family!

Come on you guys -- the suspense is killing me!
Vector, obviously your email isn't talking to Ed's so let's go back to the old days. Why don't you just ring Steve on the number he's provided? Or am I missing something here?

Sorry Dick,
I wasn't aware that you were involved in these proceedings.
I guess I'm a little bemused that in this age of instant communication, these parties are having so much trouble either making contact or obtaining the necessary information.
Good luck with the sale of 002 (is that the right thing to say? ) Norway might come through, and Ed/Steve may too, but I'm still hopeful that somebody down here might realise that the desirability and history of the Red Headed Mistress is worth making a few sacrifices for.

Steve has tentatively made up his mind.
He, another outside party like myself, myself, and of course the owner of the Cobra, being from three different states, two time zones have been going at a marathon pace all day working out details.
Another day at least before final plans are made for the inspection. Then, I hope Steve has found his Cobra, money exchanged for title and the shipping carrier has gotten on board.
For those that have replied, I thank you so much for your help and consideration. The first three cars that were found, all three owners backed down deciding that their wife didn't want them to sell, or the daughter didn't want the car to go, etc. Looked dismal for awhile. One gent has a beautiful Cobra for sale, along with a complete Excalibur kit. 1st he changed his mind on the Cobra, OK, no problem I'll build Steve his car only to find out there is no MSO. OK, over the years I have found a few states we could get around without a MSO, but NOT New York! California was a great lesson to everyone in this world involving home made cars, but believe it or not some guys are still selling cars with a corrupt title. Not stolen cars by any means, just improperly registered.
If, anything does go south on us, the search will start up immediately. I will call all that have been in touch in the order your notifications came in.
Thank you,
DV

I have a mint Factory Five MK-IV (2010 body built in 2011) that was Pro built and tuned and dyno'ed at Mr. Norm's in Chicago last year I would like to sell. I am 6'2" and fit fine , but I don't think it is a long wheel base car.
It is powered by a new Ford SVT 2003 Terminator 4.6 alloy block, Terminator Alloy heads and cam, Wipple 2.3 Supercharger, long tube headers and side piped with O2 sensors and Tremac five speed . (I have two sized spools, pulleys and belts that will drop the Hp to around 540). The car is absolutely stunning and built to perfection with over $ 72,000 spent. Viper Metallic Blue with white stripes. Too much to mention until I create a proper classified ad.
Currently running the small spool and is dyno (Mr. Norm's) @ 674.3hp (at the rear wheels) and 662 of torque. It is actually as drivable as a Honda, but can get as wild as you would like. Full SVT Racing gauges, GPS speedo, push button start, everything is just beautifully done. and currently 625 miles. It is registered and titled as a 1965 Ford
I will take less than $ 50,000

HK,
I know DAVE SMITH very well, raced against him many times, helped in his Pit when he rolled his FFR over at R&G, but most importantly the DVSF was started in the honor of Little Jenney.
NOT to start a debate period lets just say my customer IS to big to be comfortable in a FFR and leave it at that, but thanks anyway.
