Default Another "Guess this kit" request.

Okay, I posted this in the Arntz/Butler forum already but realized I should have put it out here where more people might see it.

Need assistance in identifying this one:

Me thinks its an Arntz. Current owner represents it to be an Arntz. Side pipes, steering wheel mounted high on dash, chevy engine, jag rear and overall body shape, especially nice tail with no lip-flare makes me believe its an Arntz or Butler. Title has it as special construction of something with a build date of 2000 according to agent.

What do you guys think she is?

What best defines most kits is the frame and suspension design, interior layout and the engine compartment. That looks like a custom dashboard and fuel tank, neither of which help find a kit's origin.

I have some more photos I can post but not getting much response here. I agree "strictlypersonl" the frame is square like an Arntz. Wheel base is 90 or 91.5 not extended 96". Suspension is jag rear and IDK in the front but agent says "TR3", never heard of that one, prolly a MGB; Jag rear would be consistent with Arntz and others. I didn't include a good engine compartment shot in this post but Chevy small block mounted up against firewall would indicate Arntz. Trunk shot shows the hinges which may help identify a kit? Usually tank mounting style can indicate manufacturer but this looks like a simple in trunk custom.

Looking for some educated guesses on this one. What are the opinions on the body?

The body seems to vary a little from the one Junkman has been trying to identify in an earlier thread (a Butler/Arntz it was concluded). This one has hidden trunk hinges and the rear wheel openings are a little wider around the centerline and lower area. They do share a high mounted steering column. Posting some more photos of the chassis and the engine bay would help.

The shape of the dash and the "low hip" quarter panels point to an Arntz/Butler. Arntz kits came with an external decklid hinge & Butler came with a hidden hinge, but I've seen many Arntz which were "updated" with hidden hinges. Do you have pictures of the engine bay?

Whatever became of this car? The original post was over two years ago.
If it was eventually identified as an Arntz it is to be hoped that the new owner put it out of its misery by quickly disposing of the ugly rollbar dash wheels and carpet, and returning the car to some semblance of its former glory.

It was offered on consignment at a dealer for awhile. They new little about it. Would never put me in touch with owner, maybe an estate case. Owner used to be a member on this forum. He had it listed for sale on here years ago.

Not sure where it ended up.
