Thanks! It vents to the base of the air cleaner.

I had my BAR inspection this morning. Thanks to all for the guidance on the PCV system. That part went perfectly. But the BAR referee told me he would collect all of my data and then submit it to Sacramento for approval (they need to confirm they believe I built the car myself). At that point, they would call me back for the SB100 sticker. This approach would set me back significantly because I would have to wait a few weeks for his call, come back to BAR for the SB100 sticker, make another DMV appointment to extend my Temp Op Permit (TOP), and then eventually go back to DMV for final registration. What a PITA. I explained I've already been set back in this process by the CHP and could prove I installed the engine myself with photos. I'm lucky he asked for the photos and then called his supervisor to explain I have proof that it is in fact a self-built kit car. So they gave me the sticker this morning. I have to say this referee (Dan at Skyline College) was a really nice and helpful guy, but it sounds like the process is becoming more complicated over time.

Did the guy at the BAR try and throw you any curveball questions? When I went, it was like a rubber stamp process if you made it that far. These days, it sounds like the people at the BAR are being coached to trip people up by asking questions like "who built the car" and "was the engine in the car when you bought it?."

Nah, he was pretty cool. Plus it was obvious from the conversation that I built the car with my kids, so he helped as much as he could.

lippy,

Congrats on getting your sticker! You are that much closer to getting your plates and completing the process. Good job having the photos with you, being prepared and having all the proper documentation makes the difference.
