Default Hey Chas, Check Out this Cool Present I Got & You Didn't!

Yep, one of the kids gave it to me. Made from the finest of plastics, and tells me the bolt size and thread. Works on nuts and metric stuff too. Pretty nice, huh? Betcha want one... but, you can't have it. Now, if anyone got anything better than this, feel free to tack a pic on to this thread. Hijacking is encouraged.

Yeah, poor me. I just have the 30 year-old thread gauges in my tap and die set to struggle along with.
Very thoughtful of your child, but alas, misguided. Little does he realize that a bolt or nut will never touch it. You will instead bring it to fine restaurants to gauge the thickness of pastas and linguinis...
BTW- be on the look-out for the package I sent you. It's a 640 volt wooden chair with 3 prong plug attached. I hope you use it immediately upon receipt...

It seems like a little freebie thing that a machine shop or fastener shop would give out, kind of like a calendar or something, that has its name and phone number on it. I am much more likely to use it, rather than opening up my tap and die set. The only fine thread bolt I have used on the Cobra, that I can recall, is the balancer bolt in the crank that I replaced, everything else is coarse. I know the windshield area has Whitworth, and the back of my Vernier has a chart that seems like it's for converting metric to Whitworth, but it looks like it's in German. Regardless, I can't figure it out.

Don't tax yourself. It's not like you'll ever use it.

A French menu is more your milieu....

Not tonight, as shortly I will be dining on homemade braciole and ravioli. On Christmas, it's Italian all the way....

Sounds delicious. I'll probably have fresh grilled fish. Much healthier.

Let me tell you, that is not used for measuring nuts. Its used for measuring ta-tas. It folds up nice to fit in the trunk. When you go to the local car show you pull it out. Take measurements and figure out which of the many sizes fit the car best.

My favorite Christmas gift was the one I didn't get at the family's annual Dirty Santa game. Someone brought a metal device used to brand our favorite college team's name on a hotdog. The person who was stuck with it appealed to me to take it saying, "Just put it on the grill until it gets good and hot, and then put your weenie on it." ... "No thanks," I replied. "It sounds like it would hurt, but I'm sure the result would be very impressive."

My wife gave me a GTech Road Race. Really nice and appears very ergo. I down loaded some software which allows you to analyze track performance.

Next day said she wanted to meet my attorney to take care of Will stuff.

Very pragmatic, that girl -

Well that explains it. Earlier today I got a PM from her asking me for the name of an insurance agent and how to cut halfway through a throttle return spring.
