Double, saw your car today at RS and the only way I didn't drool all over it was by keeping a coffee cup held under my chin. Really nice car! Hope you can get someone to part with what the car is worth.

Bit of a personal question, but how much were you hoping to get?

At an auction I'm always factoring in the closing costs.
At $65k what additions fees does a potential buyer need to close the deal?
Perhaps the same buyer may go to $70k (or more) outside of the auction house so to speak

Fwiw - just for market comparisons sake... There are ERA asking $55k and there's a Kirkham on eBay ATM at $85k, polished in all its glory with an all alu KC Efi 482 from memory.

Either way good luck with the sale.
I hope it goes to a good home

Don't be confused with the Kirkham on Ebay at $85K as that is the current bid and the car has been on Ebay in the past and I heard he wants north of $95K. Auctions are very difficult to judge as I saw a Backdraft Cobra sell the other night for high $60s and then that CSX6000 with a small block webers for $77K. The key is two people need to want your car! I know I'm partial on Exact Cobras, but I turned down $79K for mine and with CSX 6000 rollers and Kirkham rollers at $90K today it appears the price band is moving up. If I was going to put my car in an auction, it would be Mecum.

At the bottom of the Kirkham auction

Q: whats best price for a deal now? not looking to go back and forth
A: 95K That is less than just the rolling body with options
That seems like a fair price too.

The Exact doesn't have near the appeal as the Kirkham to most people.

I told the advisor I would drop the reserve if I would clear 70k....

Did you have to pay a tax for the reserve with no sale? I always wondered how it works

To have a reserve it cost 600.00 before Nov 11 but 1200.00 after whether it sells or not. It's an up front cost.

John,

So what is the seller's and buyer's fees after the sale? I was looking at the Cobras selling at BJ this weekend and it looks like the buyers are paying 10% on top of the selling fee as that CSX 6000 with the small block and webers sold for $77,000 and they show the selling price with commission at $84,700.

I'd heard that the seller also pays a 10% fee, so that, with the buyers' 10% helps cover a little overhead. Yikes! If this is the case, think of the dancing in the streets by the Gooding and RM Auction folks after selling two Ferrari's that went for over $8M each last Friday!

The buyer and seller pay 10 % I'm told.

Barrett Jackson is 10% buyer's fee (buyer pays 1.1x hammer price), 8% seller's fee (seller gets .92 of hammer price). Seller also pays a somewhat fixed consignment fee but I recall it's around $1000 or less.

Another question. Since most BJ cars are no reserve, but I see Mecum and R&S on reserve that buyers can negotiate after the no sale on the block. Do you still pay the commissions if it sells after?
