Default Original 1967 a/c cobra for sale

Fantasy Junction Auto has CSX 3356 up for grabs at a cool 1,095,000.
This is a guards blue 4spd /427.
Apparently this car has a clean history with no known accidents.
Anyone know if this car has any race history?

Glenn

Thanks for the pics and info guys. Does this seem a wee bit pricey for a slightly altered A/C with no race history?

Should have bought it in the summer of '12, when the asking price was $875,000.

It does seem a bit high for one with no racing history, but on the other hand it has never been wrecked or banged up either. As for the alterations, that would depend on the buyer and if he wanted it exactly as it came originally or if he liked what had been done to it. Either way it seems a little high to me.

Nice tip and Fantasy's usual good picture collection. Race history was mostly made with 289's. A lot of 427's were just dressed up in war paint. This has been very thoroughly gone through by Mike. It started life as a "chinless" car and has received all the goodies. Oil cooler, big 42, trunk to match etc. Even the SC/Comp control arm strengthening.

Not many obvious clues left that this one was originally a street roadster.

Gorgeous car but I would be so nervous to drive a Million dollar car on the street that it would become garage art.

Not to take the thread off topic, but that is exactly what I tell people when the "is it an original" question arises...and then some members of the Texas Cobra Club told me that there are 2 or 3 original Shelby Cobras that are driven on the streets in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I can't imagine taking the chance, either.

I'm putting in a FANTASY bid of 900 K . It would probably be a better investment than money sitting in a 401 K and you would have the benefit of a tangible asset . IF i had an original A/C, it would definitely be a trailer Queen, hauled around in by my Superformance...

That is a beautiful car. I wish I had a spare million sitting around.

Recently there was a thread about original gauge placement. I thought it was on here but I can't find it in a search. Maybe it was different forum. If I remember correctly, that thread stated authoritatively that the gauge directly above the steering column was something other than oil pressure. I always that was the oil pressure gauge location and that's what this car has. Is that the correct placement?

Given the history and limited production numbers for Cobras in general, I think they are going to $3m in no time. Give it two or three years.

Well that should knock a few hundred thousand off the price. For a million I expect it to be correct.

Your second picture shows water temp in the position I was asking about. So his answer agrees with that.
