Default Steering wheel extention

I have a Lacarra steering wheel that is to far away and would like to have it closer. Lecarra says they don't make extensions which surprised me. Does anyone have a suggestion. I looked for extensions but could not find any for the pattern.
Thank, Lou

Is it possible to move the column forward and have a new shaft made?

Lou,

If you aren't able to find one, let me know and possibly I could machine one up for you.

I was lookin for a bolt on piece.
Thanks for the offer Pat. I'll let you know. Just a 4 inch hub adapter, you would think it would be a common request for Lacarra.

Could it be that the extra long quarter inch fine thread bolts pose a safety problem in a hub adapter?

I just put in the Kirkey vintage seats and the back is against the frame which gives it good support. The pedal placement is good and my legs aren't bent too much, any more and they will hit the bottom of the steering wheel [another reason for the steering wheel to be closer, to give me more room above my legs]. I have long legs.

Yup, meant that I could make you a bolt on piece.

Do you have the nine bolt hub? How far are you thinking about moving it?

Pat, 2" will work for me. I have the 9 bolt pattern.
I called Billet Specialties, they don't make them and he was at a loss for suggestions. He said they don't really have a big demand for them.
The 1/4 x 3/4 fine thread screws with the counterbore heads would be a slight problem. I could use studs with washers and fancy nuts.

You can get the screws in stainless steel anywhere in that size length, but they usually have a Phillips heads instead of a socket head. You might have to dig a bit to find the socket head style.

Start with Ebay.

Default spacer

Looks like the same wheel that I have on my B&B. If you can't find it elsewhere, just pm me. BTW, if I do it, you will be sending it to a machine shop.

I have found that my local Ace Hardware usually has an amazing selection of nuts bolts and stuff in stainless. If you can't find it pm me. We have A+A Fastener here in Baltimore. If they don't have it it doesn't exist. Tom

To follow up on my quest to find a spacer for Lecarra steering wheels. The special thanks goes to Indianamoon. Pat made me a spacer of very good quality that looks great and fit perfectly. Pat, I hope you saved the XYZ s on this product as it's the only one I could find in the country.

Again, Pat thanks so much for you fine workmanship and frequent emails to keep me updated on the progress of the spacer.
