Default Boss 302

I am looking for a 2012-2013 Boss 302 to take up some garage space next to the Cobra. If anybody has any leads please follow up with me. I am willing to travel. Thank You Mike Harter

That is a great car. There is one up here that I looked at and the guy said he had to go somewhere else to get it. It was blue and really sounds great. You might try some of the Mustang Clubs as they may be able to help you find one.

Just took delivery of a 2012 Boss in Competition Orange with 2400 miles from OC Welch in NC certified pre owned. Warrantied to 2017. Fantastic car. Performance specs equal to the new Z28 for $35k less.

He has a few others. Tell him Evan referred you.

Hey Evan,

You are getting quite a collection of cars. I really liked the Boss 302 that I mentioned in my above posts but the Ford dealers here seem to have trouble getting one of them. Have fun with it.

Thanks Ron.

Bought the car to use on the track for the most part. Taking the Bertil Roos 5 day race school in May with my son.

Drove my son's modified Shelby GT at Watkins Glen, Summit Point and New Jersey Motorsports Park/Thunderbolt. Loved it! A lot of fun.

Likely I won't be the fastest out there but just out to have fun. Some minor mods to the Boss so far like FRPP racing brake ducts, Steeda Boss Sport Comp springs (slightly stiffer than stock and 1" lower), Koni Yellows, Triax shifter and Steeda trans bushing, Kooks side pipes.

Cheers.

Don't forget the transmission cooling duct from Ford, and to remove the dust shields, front and rear.

I have a 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca along with my Mark III Superformance. The Boss is a great car except for the transmission which is a holdover from the Mustang GT. I've changed the shifter which helps, but it still is crap. I traded a 2008 GT 500 for the Laguna Seca and installed a Ford Racing short shifter and it was great. The same hasn't happened for the Boss. The high revving Boss is a great performing driver in contrast to the Superformance which is a thrill to drive. Enjoy.

When my son flew into Vegas to pick his up, there was 100 more miles on it than what had been represented on the paperwork sent to consummate the sale. Someone had been driving it hard as the 3rd gear syncro was gone! No way to shift w/o grinding. Had thee been another choice we would have walked. It required a completely new transmission, not repairing the existing one.
So far so good.

Are you going to try to go all out, and get the Laguna Seca ?

IMO, that is THE Boss I would want.

The Laguna Seca version doesn't have a rear seat. Also as I understand it....activation of the "Track Key" voids the warranty????

Track Key does not void the warranty. I think it shortens it though.

The major performance difference between the standard Boss and the LS are the R compound tires on the LS.

If you are buying for "collectibility" they made fewer LS's. Your not going to track an LS bought for collectibility.

If you are buying to enjoy and track the standard Boss is the better buy.

Put Koni Yellows, Steeda Boss Sport Comp springs, and Michelin Pilot R compound shoes, frpp brake duct kit, Triax shifter and bushing on a standard Boss and you are now far ahead of the LS performance wise for approximately $2500.00 and you can still put the kids in the back seat.

They are sill VERY capable track cars stock. A standard Boss turned faster lap times than the M3 and Audi R8 at Laguna Seca. Not bad for a stick axle car and still has performance specs pretty much equal to the new Z28 comparing Specs from Car & Driver. In fact, I read that The Boss ran a 7:38:35 at the Ring recently with Berget Kinser ( yes, thats right, a girl) drivivg. That's less than 1 second off the new Z28 's time with all its 550hp, cc brakes, super nanny suspension & IRS, 305 R compound tires square. That's impressive by any standard.
TN Shelby Cobra likes this.

Car is fully covered under warranty with track key installed and operating.
Basically a 3 year warranty for a track car. Mod's outside of track key may or may not void warranty…

12' Boss LS

The LS had a number of changes… different suspension(shocks/sway bars), rear seat delete, wider wheels with R compound tire(which actually where not that good), different LS paint and smaller production numbers. Came with the Recaro seats and Torsen diff also, which was an option for the regular Boss.

Default Boss 302

Found a Shelby white with blue stripes would look good next to my Cobra that is blue with white stripes. Still going to lean toward the 2013 Boss 302. I will keep looking and find a Calif. Car
