Default Vinyl Decals Issue

I purchased the vinyl decals from Finish Line and some meatballs from another place. The decals on the side of the car seem okay with the possible exception of the lower ones that are near the exhaust pipe coming up a bit. However, the meatball on the hood seems to be having a very difficult time staying on...

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to better get these removable vinyl decals to stay in place? I do have stripe decals on the car (permanent) as well and they may be effecting the hood meatball as well...

Thanks!

If you are putting a static cling decal over another stripe decal you are never going to keep in down as it's not going to seal. If you like the vintage look of a meat ball then I would suggest you put the regular one on. They come off with a air dyer and not reusable but you probably would mess up your stripe also. If your stripes were painted you wouldn't be having the problem. I got my decals from Mike at Squier Design (1-800-865-5555) and you might call him and see if he has any recommendations.......... Default decals

Is the surface completely free of dirt, and wax?
I found with the amount of cleaner /wax I use I cant get masking tape to even stick to mine.

Did you use a soap solution to apply?

Good Luck.

I had just cleaned it with Wet Paint. It is more a cleaner than a wax but maybe that is part of the issue... Would detail spray be a good option to ready the surface?

I did not use any solution to apply any of the decals. Is it better to use just a mist of water or soapy water?

I've found that if I clean the area first with warm soapy water and wipe it dry, then I use regular windex window wash to wet the area, use a squeegee (SP?) gently, over the decal, to remove the windex. Start gently, then more pressure until decal is dry. Let it dry overnight and they seem to stay on well. Not sure about over other decals. good luck

Default Meatballs

I have meatballs on my hood and trunk, the ones on the sides came off and one ended up melted all over my side pipe, what a freakin' mess. The small stickers worked great. I do not believe I will put anymore large meatballs on the sides. I have a racing stripe and the meatballs seem to be clinging very good, just be sure the surface is clear of particles and wax, not sure why the sides came off?
