Default New seats? I'm thinking.

Hi all. I got rid of my old kit car seats a long time ago. They were really uncomfortable. Lacked lumbar support, thigh bolsters or any torso side support.

I had new seats custom made to fit my car:

The new seats are really comfortable but came with some comprimises: I sit about 2" higher and 2" closer to the steering wheel.

So I'm thinking of starting again with some configuration between the original Cobra style buckets and the ones I had custom made.

An original bucket with a little more seat padding, better thigh and toro bolsters and better lumbar support.

So, are there any suggestions of currently available Cobra style seats or a fiberglass bucket that I can start with?

Cheers
Greg

Accurate reproduction 427 seats are actually quite comfortable IMO. They need to have the rubber spring thingy on the bottom for some flex to the cushion. KMS makes a nice seat, more comfortable than an original seat I think. Pricey though.
I have Sube Cobra seats in my Hurricane. Less money than KMS and pretty comfortable as they have a rubber thingy under the cushion. The base cushion is a little long compared to original's but gives better support. They have a little more roundness to the back which gives you more side bolster. If you knew someone local who had them, you could try them out. I know some of the FFR guys use them.
