Smaller world. You have my first set of spare wheels that were used on 4266!

Well, Rodknock, they sold for $9,998.00.
$2 off the mark. Better luck with next time.

I should open up my own Tarot Card Reading business downtown.

I'll "give" you another one. California Chrome wins Saturday.

Just let me know if you need anything else.

Depending on what batch he was trying to get into production, his price varied from $4,000-$5,000, but for a set of 4.

Actually, a sale of a real set of Halibrands at $10K, should get his foundry "fired up." (pun intended)

I question that Rod. $1000 per?-dubs sell for way more than that. I seem to remember more like $4K per. That's why he got little response here and then stopped talking to us all together.

Nope, his price(s) depending on when he floated the inquiry was for a set of 4 wheels. There's no chance I'd be interested at $4,000 per wheel or $16,000 per set.

Roddo's right, Chas. Per set, although I remember it more like $5k.
Ah, the days of the Halibrand thread. I felt like Don Quixote.

Chas, you realize you could have sold your ERA with Trigos, I'm sure for the same price.
Then sold your Mags to Rodknock.

I thank you both and stand corrected.

No actually, the buyer was insane to have the mags-he saw a ton of ERAs on Trigos a year before mine. I'm very pleased with the sale price as he was with his purchase price. It went to a good home. He keeps the wheels probably better than I did-a very nice family.

Well, knockers says my ERA backspace wouldn't work on his K-car. Besides, he would have bargained me into the ground...

BTW, the Kirkham Billet Girling calipers are $5,000 and they're only available with the original tubular type suspension, which is $10,000.

I think my Wilwood brakes with billet suspension work OK.

If I did buy a new set of wheels, then I'd probably buy a set of fake Halibrand-looking (gold-ish) wheels from Vintage.

My front Wilwoods clear fine-but don't got none on the Jag rear...

Come to think of it, when my Yoko's age out, which is fairly soon, then I may just buy those Vintage wheels at the same time as my Avon's.

Ya. My Wilwoods are looking finer by the minute.
Still, would've been nice to put Hali's on, no?

Come to think of it, us fakey-do pilots don't really need brakes with all the torque...

Yes, mainly because with magnesium, I could drop the weight of my Kirkham 20-30 lbs. And I think I'd notice that weight difference alot.....going "Vroom Vroom" as I sit in my car.....in the garage.

Certainly, my concrete garage floor would thank me. Less potential for cracks.

Seriously, if Fran comes along again, like Halley's Comet, I could be a magnesium buyer again. But you would have to sort out the offset issue for me, since I can't do calculus any longer.

Avons may weigh more than your Yoks. They are a lot more than BBs.
