Foul.....
Don't make me post my Autokraft "shed" pictures circa 1985 most of which were taken by my first wife (well, actually I have only had one and she is still here but...) and were published in Autoweek.
Look in my photos for some 80s' and late 90's pictures.

Wow, simply wow.
I'm a techno weenie. I know how to milk a cow (without any aids) and pound nails (although I use an air nailer now).
Along the way I spent lots of time watching people do things. I love to watch people do things they do well. I learn from them.
I would LOVE to spend time with those guys doing that aluminum work. It's awesome seeing the end product in #1 (and that is exactly what the one I saw being trucked into SAI looked like). Note that this was NOT a finished product. Once it got to Vegas it had to be polished down so it could be painted.
The painted body on the one I saw at Barrett Jackson a few years ago looked like a perfect balloon. You know there are no flat surfaces on a Cobra. But the curves on this car were absolutely perfectly shaped - no flat spots anywhere.
By the way, the Kirkham and Shelby CSX4000 cars look that way too.
So I want to watch aluminum fabrication. Now that I live in Vegas maybe I'll get a pass to tine inner sanctum...

mullen2,
Great photos ... thank you for sharing!
As was noted above, always wonderful to see craftsman at work. Whether it's England, Las Vegas, Poland or Provo it's hard to top an aluminum Cobra. Thanks as well to Jamo for starting this thread and keeping the peace in the sandbox ...

So are you suspecting like I am that the bucks being used are those of the AC MK IV of the 80's (not original either) and not original 60's bucks as purported?

Are those recent pictures of the CSX-1000's or are they from years ago?

Regardless. Very neat stuff. Thanks!
Does anyone have pics of the Kirkham build process and Mig factory build process? That would be cool to see also!

George
1000's were not years ago, they are current? Well current as in last few years, the black and whites look vintage.
Lets see the Autokraft photos!

Morning everyone.
Yes my car is complete rodneym.
I think most of the photos are from 2003 - 2004 time frame. I am guessing the photo of the three men that is B&W is from 1980's, looks like they are working on a seat frame?
As far as the age of the bucks in the photos? They look old, from 60's? Don't know for sure. Was told they are. Is it possible they are the 289 style cobra bucks and they added in the 427 features by hand as the cars were being built? Not sure. I guess it doesn't matter either way. My attraction was/is the AC connection then to Shelby to be built into a Shelby Cobra. Same way it was done originally. That is why Carroll went to all the trouble to set this deal up with AC. Unfortunately only 13 cars were built and the relationship soured. And now the attraction is only 13 were done this way in the living years. They can't be duplicated now that the Captain of the Ship is no longer with us.
All this said, My car is no more fun to drive than a FFR,SPF or other. Im not here to say my car is better than anyone else's car. Im a collector, and I buy what gets my attention.
Happy motoring to all...

Mullen,
'Collector' has become a sullied term these days with jack-asses buying junk at wildly inflated prices.
You are the most down-to-earth, real-deal 'collector' I've ever had contact with. Your appreciation and use of your car is fresh air-without the pedantic 'realness factor' non-stop litany.
No name-dropping or chest-beating either.
Post more often and show your car and its details-we all benefit from that.

Great pictures. A fair few of them come from the AC Cars brochure of the 90's and I have a copy kicking around somewhere. I'm pretty sure, although not absolutely certain, that the bucks seen in the pictures are for the AC Mk.IV rather than 60's Cobras.

Exactly. Continuation owners aren't saying nor are they saying their cars are more fun to drive than a FFR etc...or "better". Just defending what they are.
Bravo.

Evan...no. This thread is not going to involve any further discussion about "defending" this or that or making any points. It would be good if you sit back and learn from mullen2 a bit. Don't respond.
