The last sentence in the article makes me think the author believed it was an original: "We hope the car is still salvageable, as it would be a tragedy to loose such an iconic car to an accident on the Gumball."

Some of the commenters also believed it was an original. The article could have been more precise.

As others noted it is not a race at all.

I was curious (as the original link posted) is this an actual vinyl wrap job on a cobra. Article states so. If it is good one for bringing that topic up some time ago.

Vinyl or plastic dip is a budget way to "paint" your car. Peeps with crappy cars to million dollar super cars have been using it for years. Makes sense for the home hot rod builder. $300-$400 for material. The Cobra body is off the frame and easy to wrap once, twice, 3X until u get it right. Plastic dip is really cheap; rent a spray gun from Home Depot and be done in a day.

Color in any format...paint, wrap, whatever...is a highly overrated concept.

The real topic is exhausting and aggravating.
It's overshadowing the intended topic of every F'ing thread.

No one cares (correction, 6 people care), we all know the gray area/misunderstanding. Let it go

Nice to know we have idiots like that running loose on the roads of our fair island. So long as he didn't take anyone with him when he tried for his Darwin Award.....

Think I'll stay home and collect stamps

Do you have your car registered as a 1965, 1966 etc..? Lots of owners do but don't technically own a "Cobra" of any year.

Also, accurately you dont own a Cobra either and should so state.

Just say'n.
Love your condescending comment and arrogant attitude although nothing new based on your posting history. Nowhere do I say I own a Cobra. As others pointed out the article is misleading. And my car will be registered correctly as a special constructed vehicle.

Have a nice day

There are swarms of replicas here registered as '65's, 66's etc...I agree they should so correctly state too and shouldn't refer to there cars as Cobras either to so correctly state while we're all being so correct. Point in fact,. Saw a SPF last here in NJ with Fla. antique plates. Hmmm.

I didn't care for your condescending tone either. Just returning the favor.

Takes care.

My finger is on the button for anyone who drags up a post from pages ago and decides they really need to respond in an argumentative tone, or for anyone else that comments about someone else or their posts.

Talk about the thread subject, or STFU.

Fair enough. You don't want to hear my opinion on Hublot being the 'Kirkhams' of the watch world.

They look tired driving in the Cobra.

I would have picked a RV, hire playboy bunnies for on road catering, and cruise at 55 mph with Air Conditioning, heat, beds, fridge, kitchen, shower.

Does your car have regular plates on it, or QQ plates?

According to the Websters definition, true. No problem there. Absolutely. It would have to be in order to be a Continuation Shelby Cobra. Axiomatic.

Do you want to use Websters definitions? If so, However, we'll do that right across the board. You won't like it very much though. Just let me know. There are quite a few terms that apply to your car and "replica" ain't one of them.

The dictionary I use states "any close copy...."

"Close" is relative and I think most Cobra replicas fit that definition.
