The time to build a CSX roller?
I was reading a 2004 thread about a CSX owner "Dwayne" who waited 25.5 months for his Shelby Cobra. The thread became a heated topic in Viper & Cobra forums because Dwayne was dying of cancer and the Shelby dealer promised a 9 month build which turned into 2 years++
I'd like to hear from past, current CSX owners on their build wait and experience.

Why? Are you contemplating such a purchase?

I'm actually proud of him. He used the search button and kinda researched his subject matter before starting a thread. And extra credit for going back a decade. Of course, I'm not going to verify it.
Now, I'd be super-enthused, if he had actually found a Shelby owner who received their car in 6 months and asked the question in a more positive manner, say "Is this owner's 6 month wait typical of CSX production?"
But hey, small steps.

He pushed the easy button, most read threads. If a new one is taken out of inventory it's a couple of weeks after choosing your color. If you specifically order one it's still over two years.

I would order an Acton Custom, would be more accurate than a 6000 car

Maybe accuracy is not his priority. Still hasn't answered my question.
Further, Hillbank has some in stock he could have today. All it takes is money.

i was curious if customer service policy has improved since 2004 at SAI and its dealer network. Just my belief that if a product is expensive, customer service should be equal or exceed expectations.

Customer service and wait time are 2 different things. Which are you really interested in? And unless you intend to buy something from SAI or the dealer network why do you care?

Wanted To Buy: Shelby Cobra Roller. Aluminum body preferable, fiberglass OK. Duct tape desirable. Willing to pay up to $30,000. Please no "hot rods shaped like Cobras." No trunk mounted battery. Battery(ies) must be in original location behind seat(s). Trunk must have space to carry at least two bags of kitty litter and a diaper bag.

Why do some of the members keep harping on NYG? He asked a question, why do you have to analyze and know why he asked it. I guess when NYG feels targeted and leaves you will just pick on another new guy.
I actually learned something from Chris on Cars and his Miata post. I'm still laughing about that supercar comment of his. surprised he didn't use his latest hypercar word usage.

There you go again knock. You give him a back-hand compliment and mention something about asking in a more positive manner. Are you his parent? You do know NYG is an intelligent adult.
Just an observation.

As noted on the other thread...need some disengagement between you two.
Thanks.

whew, family's asleep. my only private time to have some online fun!
I had a bad experience at a custom purchase, an Italian brand couch. The furniture store and saleswoman promised a 2 month delivery. Drop 50% deposit. Waited 2 months. Called store. Saleswoman quit. My Order got lost in the store's paperwork! My deposit was gone. I think saleswoman stole the deposit. Store promised rush delivery; couch will be done in 5 weeks. Went back home couchless and crossed off the calendar. Turned into 7 months. This is a freaking couch! By the time the couch was done, I really didn't want it. Buyer's remorse. Moral of story. Don't get sucker by your own ego and trying to impress the cute 20s something Danica Patrick look-a-like saleswoman with long legs and wearing Jimmy Choo shoes (maybe fake?).
So I was curious if any Cobra guys could tell us about their good and bad experiences waiting for their car. It is a 2 year wait for a CSX roller and $hit happens in life.
Onxy,
please take pictures at Goodwood Festival. It is a "bucket list" for many car geeks like myself. Also check out the Zenos car. They will have the E10 car on display. It is a poor man's modern roadster (fits in my limited budget). USA will get a kit car version in 2015 or later.
