Anthony's Original 427 S/C "Survivor"
I ran across this video interview with Anthony Boosalis and his original Hertz Gold 427 S/C.
I guess Anthony can pretty much stop dead any conversation about "Is it real?... Is it an original?"
Nice example of a true survivor car.

Steve Sunshine had this car in his garage for a while. Saw the car up close and in person. A lot of details for CSX 4206 follow this car including dual quads.

According to the Registry, he also has or had #3016 and #3026 Comp cars. I have parked beside 3026 at a show and can say that he keeps it all original patina as well and drives it to the shows.

Perhaps he sold one of the others for the Hertz Gold. Very cool car. Learned a lot from Steve.

The "Hitman" is a character. He had 3 at Monterey. I'm with him on originality having done some work on the other gold one.

I would think that would be an important detail to correct if his was "Real".

Quite some time ago, I won an auction by SAI supposedly of the fiberglass hood scoop they used as a template for their CSX3000 series cars. Almost threw it out when we were packing up the garage this past spring. Now that would have been a tragedy.

Got it in a safe place now I hope.

The basic car is very original, but without scrutinizing the engine extensively many things jump out incorrect, like valve covers, plug wires, dist cap, carb return spring and bracket are wrong, aircleaners were typically different heights, overflow tube on expansion tank is incorrect, hose from back of engine to puke tank is missing, carb wedge spacers are missing, carb mounting gaskets are wrong color, doesn't look like the correct banjo fitting is on the front carb which would make the fuel line visible between the carbs, breather cap shouldn't be on the valve cover, throttle linkage is not typical of what was delivered on SC cars (substantiation needed of that having been on the car from new), dipstick in wrong location for stock pan (someone probably retrofitted an Aviaid on this), some hoses wrong color/material. Ok, enough. It is a very neat car otherwise though!

Nah, since it's a "real" Cobra it doesn't really matter anyway.

Yes some of those details are off. Is it then the most "original" original in existence?
Also don't see any rivets on hood scoop!

Categorizations
I generally don't care for putting bucket names on cars, as there are always different perspectives/criteria of how to categorize and it just tends alienate some resulting in division of owners/enthusiasts. Just look at all the mess on this forum over categorizations of "real". The better thing from any cognoscenti is to just universally state the facts and let people make their own decisions. That said, if I had to describe 3047 in some global reference I guess I would say it is one of the least molested (except for engine) SC's in existence.

I've seen this car up close and even spoke to Anthony about it. It's fun to look at and there are so many original details still left in place all around it. It is very rough all over as well (think of a running barn find and you get the picture).
What also hasn't been made clear is that the original gold hue was painted over at some point, and another owner painstakingly attempted to remove the dark blue with razor blades (!). What you see is how it ended up, in survivor condition and most likely will remain that way for some time.

Don't you mean 'dental tools'?
In two years the story will be 'laser beams'.

It's an amazing car. It looks like it was used & used well, even if there were running mods. Of his three cars, this would be the one I'd want to sit in!

How is it this car is titled as a 65 when it was sold in 66? The registry states that the last known plate on the car read "66 Cobra".

Larry, it's easy. If you can undo a paint job with a single-edged blade, surely a year or so will peel back, too, right?
