Tony,
I took a picture of a car at Barrett-Jackson in 2009 that appears to be your car. If not, it has an identical twin running around somewhere out there. Just curious if that was in fact your car. It certainly is a beautiful specimen.

That was my car. I bought it there. At first I didn't think too much of the color but the carbon fiber body really appealed being we lived in hail country

I find it beyond comprehension that some people obviously spend a fortune on going faster and then penny-pinch on the single most important component on their cars.

What is it with the "warm beer" thing? ![Confused](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif) No one drinks warm beer by choice. A good ale should be served at 7-11 degrees C. Anything colder than that totally ruins the flavour.
Cold temperatures = less carbonation released = less aroma = less taste = why bother? Save the really cold temps for lawnmower beer — the kind you chug down after mowing the lawn (taste? who cares?). ![laughing](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/laughing.gif)

Hi Sandwich-
You probably didn't mean to post that to this thread, but you should repost, because it's a far more interesting topic than 99% of the other topics floating around recently, IMO.
Anyway, I remember who built that motor, and, well, I'm not going to say anything, so forget it.
I still think your idea was great and the final product was fabulous. IIRC, your sleeve design would've infringed on a Darton patent, and would've been cost prohibitive to use Darton sleeves? Maybe I'm all wet here but I think that was it.
I'd still buy one of those blocks in a microsecond. Try to get it decked and back together. That project has fascinated me from the moment you started it. I've always wondered about decking an aluminum block with cast sleeves...must be a bit tricky. I do know however that the alloy blocks all have their sleeves proud by a fingernail or so. (my scientific estimate). Good luck

So the new AC continuation cars , genuine AC's (no FakeyDoos) that come from the factory with GM LS engines would be welcome on this thread? I would like to see some more pictures of them. On the web sight it says they have done some cars and would like to do about ten cars a year.

Ya, sorry to pollute this thread with engine stuff, but in response to philminotti, the engine went back together a few months ago, I had to get some copper head gaskets from SCE for it because a stock felpro would not work with those dang sleeves. Anyway, the car runs great now, no more water leaking, at least not for now.
