Is that a Lucas generator, or have you used an alternator built into a gen. housing?
You have done a great job on what must be record time.

Yes!....I modeled it after CSX 2001 ..sweet!
I used the alternator built into the generator housing for the "fooled ya" look.
Still torn on whether or not to paint the wheels black...kinda like it like it is....I still have to put the #1 meatballs on it, but I have to let the paint relax a few more days.

Erik
You can plasti dip your wheels. If you get tired of them black, just peel off the plasti dip

Funny you mentioned meatballs. Without knowing anything about CSX2001, my wife saw the pictures of your car and thought it would look good meatballs......maybe she is spending more time reading about Cobras than I realize!
Even though the wheels on CSX2001 are black, I still like the cast finish (and the Hoosiers) on your car.

Great looking little 9 very nice job! Did you try the front quick jacks pointed in at the body? You'll consider it after the first few shin digs.

Hey thanks guys....ya know I am headed out to the garage to flip those sucker around....the original CSX 2001 had them this way....but since it's going to SEMA I don't want the liability, so better safe than sorry

total build time was actually 3 weeks...
car arrived 6/23 and pretty much only worked the weekends...car has been idle for the last 3 weeks waiting on paint to get finished....I had a lot of prep work done and since it was a non-donor build, it goes quicker since everything is nice and new

Did you make up the alternator yourself, or can you buy it like that? I have a vague recollection I've seen them somewhere.....?
Go all the way....paint the wheels black like CSX2001!
Cheers,
Glen

Interesting to note also Bruce has 427 quick jacks on his 289. I'll have him on about that next time I see him and offer him some correct ones.

Great job eriktreves - Congrats!
Also, certainly someone has vintage photos of CSX2001 with the quick-jacks mounted correctly ?

I think a different number would offset the size a little better. Think it looks good, though. Gives you a little "standout".

Erik
Did you just cut the meatballs to fit the hood? Any problems with the edges not sticking?
Looks fantastic!
