Nope
Not the first. First new generation hemi maybe. There was a hemi powered cobra built here in Dallas in the late 80s. At one time there was a poster available showing it.

Jay,
At one time back in the early 70s a guy near here put a 60s era 426 Hemi in his original Cobra and had it in there for about 4 months until he learned that he was destroying the value of it. He had kept the original 427 so he had it all put back original. He sold it some time ago for just over $600K.

I wouldn't call it snarling but why would you spend so much time and effort to put a engine that makes no more power than a warmed up 302 and isn't even a real hemi these new ones are semi hemi's I would have put a coyote motor or a LS motor something more modern but that's just my opinion. ![Smilie](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I have no doubts a 426 Hemi has been crammed in several of these over the years but it must take some serious modifications to the foot boxes to fit. ![EEK!](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif) Wonder how the width of a 426 Hemi compares to the SOHC 427?

I have a 426 based hemi in my nostalgia car. Before installation it set beside a 427 side oiler. The hemi measured 5 1/2" wider.

![EEK!](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif) That's 5-1/2 inches not easy to find under a Cobra hood.

Don't see any hold down straps on the video - if that's the case I think they were very lucky not to make the dyno accident section of YouTube

Obviously not going to ruin the value of an FFR. I think it sounds incredible, why not!

Definitely, you will likely take that the wrong way, though. All I'm saying is that FFR's popularity sways more towards the brand, than originality. It's a car you "can" build with a different set of intentions.

Not the first. Soon after Dodge started selling the new Hemi as a crate engine there were several Hemi builds on the FFR forum.

Awesome!
I finished mine back in 2006. Dropped a 528 Hemi Crate into a E-M with a C4 Corvette suspension. I've modified the suspension and brakes since these photos.
Still runs great, check it out: Hemi Snake

Its ironic that some people think that a 426 hemi only lives in a `40 Willys coupe or Topfuel dragster....
