Some color being added
Yellow masked off and red applied
We removed only the checkerboard masking since we will be applying a 75% gloss clearcoat to it as to the 30% gloss clear we used on the black.

Here's a few photos with the masking removed.
Tomorrow we are scheduled to get the graphics figured out.
That will include stars and bars, nose art name and various nomenclature.
Once all that's completed we will do tge final polishing step.

The owner is going to have one hell of a time convincing others that this is a 'glass car. It looks like he started with a Kirkham.

Ron,
It looks fantastic!
I just realized that I forgot to send you the nomenclature before we left. I'll do so on Sunday.
Thanks,

Very cool. Love to see one-off projects like this challenge the status quo.
Would be neat if you could somehow run functional under car exhaust to the back of the car with a return loop along side of the car (where the side pipe would normally go) with individual zoomies poking out to the side exiting just in front of the door.

Duane,
We are doing just that. Ron is fabricating a six port exhaust that will look just like a P-51's exhaust, that will be in front of the door. We are also installing an undercar exhaust that will exit in front of the rear tire. (My wife and I like the rumble! ) Both will be functional and selected via a switch. When cruising, we want the exhaust behind us, but still want to be able to switch to the six port exhaust for show. Also, so we can replicate those flickers of flame you see when the Merlin fires up, we are adding a flame thrower to the six port exhaust.
Ron can give more of the details.

Duane,
Was "status quo" for 11 years. Decided it was time for something a little different! Ron's has also been very conscious of what it would take to return to "original" status if we ever wanted to do so.

Thanks Duane
Working on getting the exterior details completed before the graphics arrive.
Our fabricated gun/directional light pods came back from being plated a few days ago and we got them polished and installed!!

Looking really good!
Here's what it's going to look like when it's done
Actually I had done this cartoon Cobra a while back with the hood scoop replicating the P51's belly scoop.

Ed our doors are always open and lately there's something of interest going on like another narrow hip project or a one large A-10 getting colors and graphics:-)
The P-51 cobra has some good company :-)
