So I want to swap out the sidepipes with something that will make the car more pleasant to me and others. Thoughts? No, selling it and buying a Prius isn't the solution...
There's a thread on this at Rerouting exhaust

Another, more recent thread here: Re: 427 FE engine, under car 'street' exhaust system?

You could also try searching "under car exhaust" and select "show posts" - you'll get lots of hits.

RE kids: I look at it this way. They heal quickly. Any more than one burn and parents have a good reason to not invest too much in their education. At car shows: If the parents won't teach em to not touch the sidepipes will.

I have had many riders and been to many shows and no burns yet. It is engrained on me to warm passengers so that may have helped.

I have only gotten bit when cleaning windshield after a buggy drive. I am considering, when replacement becomes necessary, building thinwall stainless with CARBON FIBER canister mufflers. Akropovic motorcycle systems with carbon fiber canister mufflers were never hot enough to not be touched. Also bonus of less weight, which we all need.
