Default Mustang Value

I know it is a little off the cobra path but a lot of you are very knowledgable able a lot of cars so here goes.

I have the availability to buy a 65 mustang vinyl top marron outside color. It was restored 8 years ago and has no rust. It has a straight six and an automatic tranny.

63000 original miles and is a numbers matching car. I could buy it for $7500 from the guy but he has not sent me pictures yet to show you. The guy who told me about it said it is a beautiful car.

If I can make money on it I might just buy it to resell it. Unless the wife really liked it lol.

Can you help me at all?

Thanks Kirk

I don't think there is much left on the bone for resale, in my neck of the woods. A solid 65 6cy, auto could be very enjoyable and inexpensiveness to drive and maintain.

$7500 is probably about right without knowing other details such as original body, or all reproduction parts, etc... These cars are all over the place in regards to quality of restoration and mechanical function (or dysfunction). Not much value in a 6 cyl or automatic these days. The coupe is also the most common. I wouldn't expect this to yield you any money, but buy it if you truly love the car.

A friend of mine had a show quality blue '66 coupe with white vinyl top. His was an A code 289 and a 4 speed. Struggled to get low teens out of that car when he sold it 2 years ago.
