Dyno Session at VMS-Blykins 445
#1230 is up at VMS for a few upgrades to the factory equipment. As many of you know, VMS complted my car using a 445CI motor built by Brent Lykins who is also a huge contributor to this site. Jay and his team have experimented with pretty much evrything on the cars and really know how to take them "over the top"...If that is what you are looking for of course. Along with upgraded shocks/springs, Heim joints, sperical bushings etc...they put the car on their new dyno set up. If you havent seen their dyno videos check them out-I have done a dyno session myself and vow NEVER to do so again as I pictured the straps breaking and me landing in another state. Brian looks WAY to comfortable in the drivers seat during these rather loud trips into the upper RPM limits of a V8...business as usual I suppose.
Anyway, this graph illustrates the 3rd and 9th pulls during which time they rejetted the carb and made some adjustments to increase HP by a nice margin. Mind you, I had the car tuned on a dyno before so they really made some detailed changes to get the additional HP.
This set up isn't for everyone but I like it ...The new GTR I beat to 100 didn't like either!
I will report back on the changes that VMS did on the car once I get it home and the weather gets to a number that starts with at least a "5"...I do have heated seats...

Rock on. Right at 550 to the tires.
Good data here, I assume that the 3rd pull is before jet changes, in the same trim as it was when you dyno'd it before? That seems to be the general correlation between a Mustang dyno and a Dynojet...I've seen 5-10% numbers, this one seems to reflect the former.
Do you know the A/F ratios between the 537 number and the 549 number? Bumping it up 12 horsepower to the tires is a good bump for a few jet changes.
Kudos to Jay and Brian.
BTW, I've seen Jay dyno in several different configurations....hood up, air cleaner on, hood down, air cleaner on, etc, etc. Which was this?
Look at that torque curve baby!

Not sure where Jay pulls his make-up air from but that could be a big factor!

Them numbers is corrected. We have a VMP'ed Coyote on here now running E85 and we cannot get the tires to stick on the dyno. We are about 698RWHP corrected and have not started the timing adjustments have tried various tires and have atleast 600lbs. in the trunk
Not sure where the Mustang vs. Dynojet discussion applies since the change is from adjustments here on the same dyno on the same day. Video laterz but that's hood open.

No they're not... If you look at the graph the numbers are STD, which are uncorrected.

Do you remember what the very first pull was Jay? Was it 535?

The Smoothing is 5. The correction is STD as in Standard Correction Factor. If it were uncorrected it would say it is Uncorrected. No need to apologize for the wrong offense
