I just talked with my buddy Dave Hackney Cruzin Slide Shows & we are ready to make the 2-1/2 hour trip to Fort Lauderdale to visit Alloycars. It will be done soon possibly this next week but we both have commitments so hang in there for the pictures and the truth. We both will be bringing our cameras.

Alloycars,
I have 3 different phone numbers since this thread has started 813-420-0784, 813-655-8470, & 954-524-5000. I want to call before I drive over so I'm asking which number to use to contact you.

Can we do some simple math here?
A. New FFR rolling chassis w/o body and with FFR markup = $__
B. Full drivetrain, assuming TKO or similar and to be conservative a 427 mid-range SBF = $__
C. Hand-built custom alloy body, assuming 1,500 hours minimum at say, $50/hr (not sure what FL craftsman may cost) = $__
D. Fit-up, paint and detailing = $__
Assuming also that A-D need to have some markup to be profitable,
what would A+B+C+D would equal?

The answer would be no. Without a customer base, reputation and a following, then it seems to me that it is just a very expensive hobby that will end up with Ebay as the dump site over and over.

Now, you know that political correctness is now required here and that the thought police are watching. This is one thing you are allowed to think but not say.

I just call them like I see them based on facts in evidence. I really do hope I am proven wrong!

You're more than welcome to use racial slurs, demean the handicapped, or how about posting a link to one of those 10,000 Hitler videos that are subtitled in order to be funny, but appears to be insensitive to Holocaust. Please go ahead, if you so chose.

Closing this damn thing until I review a bunch of pages in order to decide whether to chew on some ass...
...and it may take me awhile.
In the meantime...everyone move on to something else and don't start PMing the hell out of me.
geez...

From Alloycars on the "project" thread which also went south...I'm posting what I said there.

Two threads went into the gutter, and both times sparked by your responses to folks who have been around the block more than a few times...the very folks you would want to have your ideas tested by.
...and then you engaged name calling, a defensive/argumentative attitude, engaged in the annoying habit of shouting (boldface...corrected and then engaged in again), posted in this "project" thread (which is in a completely wrong forum and which I'm not going to lift a finger to move), and a few other things that simply don't provide any mitigation in your favor.
Oh, and then you start throwing threats around about having your attorney write letters? Nothing worse than a damn attorney with some stationary and a pen. Have him write me one too, please.
As folks [should] know, I've lost patience with newbies coming on and starting crap and waking me from a peaceful slumber.
You say you're done here...cool. Let me enable your exit a bit for a month or so. If you wish to return with a better attitude, it will be your choice...one misstep and you'll be gone forever.

Now that I've completely read the entire original thread, I'm ready to admit that I made a mistake banning Alloycars (whomever is using the handle) for a month.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...well, to be blunt, you're a dick.
Gone forever and a day.
