I wouldn't touch a '41 Willy's without a Hemi, but that wouldn't define the car for you.

Exactly how many original parts does your Cobra have? Heck, according to your information, you do not even have a 427 in your car. You show 482...and it is not cast iron, it is aluminum. So how many original FE parts do you actually have? What rear end does your car have? Does it have a toploader?

Exactly which car are you defining?

I guess you missed the first sentence where I said it is your car do what you want with it.

And the last sentence where I said to ME a 427 defines the car.
To me, my opinion. I believe that is what the OP asked for people's opinion.

Oh no..I read it. I just think it is funny to state what you think defines a certain car when your own car doesn't even meet that criteria...even when you did quite a bit of research.

I don't care to add to the Chevy-Ford discussion. But I will add this photo to the modern Ford versus old Ford discussion. The person who posted this photo says the engine on the left is a mod motor 302 and the one of the right is the pushrod 302. Amazing difference in size, look and challenge of installation.

Interesting data at Swap Sizing: Engine Dimensions & Tips for Popular Swaps - OnAllCylinders

Note the 5.0L Coyote is not listed, though the 4.6L SOHC and DOHC are.
