Miller Motorsports Park Closing
Just saw a link on another forum that Miller Motorsports Park was closing:
Miller Motorsports Park Will Shut Down This Year On October 31.
The link didn't specifically address what would happen to the museum. I went out there in '13 and was blown away with all the Shelby stuff. Numerous Cobras, engines, memorabilia, a Daytona Coupe, one of each of the GT40s series and a ton of other stuff. I saw the Shelby museum in Denver and the Miller museum on the same trip a couple of weeks apart and considered the Miller museum to be superior.
All to say, if you get the opportunity to see it before it closes, be sure and take it.

That is seriously too bad. It truly is a great collection and a very memorable experience for me.

It was purely a business decision , since day one the track has not broke even on any given year it has been open, let alone post a profit.....
sad,but true, that's just business.......they could not justify keeping it open and losing money year after year......

I wonder how much it costs to manage a track facility like this one for a year...

The way they do it, big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, 91 full time employees, you do the math!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't count utility bills or normal upkeep/repairs.......

Larry miller built the track on leased land. Interesting. I was once offered an opportunity to be a part owner of a professional building, on leased land. NOT.
