Congratulations. That is a nice looking cobra and don't worry about the power. Nearly ever one of the ones now are way overpowered. The original 289s only put out 390 horse, so if you have 300+ you are going to have a great cursing car along with reliability. You only need the huge horsepower if you plan to race it seriously.

I can imagine that you are really getting excited about it getting there. One thing to check about the valve covers. If it has roller rockers make sure that the new ones you got will clear them when they are working.
