Shelby related 'period' pictures....Cobra, Daytona Coupe, GT40, GT350
I thought it might be interesting to collate a few 'vintage' pictures of Cobras, GT40s, and also other 1960's Shelby related stuff (GT350s, not Shelby Dodge)
Here's a start; feel free to add more.
Cheers,
Glen

The picture of the Cobra at Nurburgring has inspired me. I am cranking up Gran Turismo 6 to take my virtual Cobra around the north course.

Always nice to identify event, location etc. if known too.

Following on with more GT40 pics....
Here's an early car. Whoever restyled the nose clip to be what we know as the 'normal' MkI nose sure improved its appearance. The MkI is one of the best looking cars ever to hit the road. If Ford could resurrect the a '60s design in 2005, largely unaltered apart from a percentage blow-up in size, that says a lot about the design integrity - and appeal - of the original.
Just as interesting as the GT40 itself in this picture, is the contrast to the other period cars in the picture. The GT40 could have come from a different planet!
Cheers,
Glen

Personally, I love the look of the street MKI GT40 with Borrani wheels. Just doesn't get any better!

OK Larry, more wire wheels....
Here's GT-101 outside the TWA office at Heathrow in April (I think) 1964, before being loaded for transport to New York. Note that black wheels were around, way back then.
....and here it is being either loaded at Heathrow or unloaded in New York:

Glen

Yep, love it! I agree that the change in the body (nose) really made it better looking for sure! How could anyone not love this:

Not sure where it is. It's just a photo I saw online and copied. The car, the location.. it all just seem to fit together. Just classic!

Villa d'Este, Lake Como, Italy.
M3/1103 just after an amazing 'resto' job by CKL in the UK that kept all the patina but made the car usable having sat in a museum rusting away for decades. The top layer of white paint was stripped off and the original paint remained underneath.

Thanks Trevor.
I've only ever known 1103 as being white , blue stripes, no wires, and at Beaulieu.
Got to say, maroon eclipses white on 1103.

Glen

More GT40:
Don't know the 'P' number, but it's an early one. It's at Daytona and it's 1965.

....and speaking of Daytona.....
....but no Cobras, Daytona coupes, GT40s, as it's 1957.

Trevor, What happened to the side marker lights? Guess they had to do some paint work.
